Top Imo politicians will on October 17, 2014 storm the country home of brand wizardry, Amb. Prof. Chinedu Asinu-Anosike in Obazu Mbieri of Mbaitolu local government area for the final laid to rest of his late mother, Mama Mabel Olekanma Asinu-Anosike.

Aged 96, his late mother before her death was a devoted Christian who gave her all in service to humanity and God.

According to a release by the family, her body will be leaving Aladinma Hospital in the morning, to her country home at Obazu Mbieri where a requiem mass will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church.

Describing her as a woman of exemplary virtue, the former governor of Imo state, Chief Dr Ikedi Ohakim said, she brought up her children in the knowledge and fear of God. Adding, he stressed that as a role model, she will be remembered for her humility, kindness and peaceful disposition.

By all accounts, the former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu said Ma Mabel was an accomplished woman who lived a good life by offering her all in every endeavour she got involved in. He described her as a principled woman who never brought forward her own needs, but always sought the good of the people in her community.

As a devoted Christian who raised her children in the fear of the Lord, the Pan African Parliament president and member representing Mbaitolu/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Hon. Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi said that though the death of one's mother no matter the age is always a painful experience urged the family to take solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled Christian life on earth.

No doubt that Cona's late mother in her wise counsel and motherly disposition would be dearly missed by those close to her, the deputy governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere stressed that her sojourn on earth was marked by concrete achievements, longevity and good health which enabled her to attain the age of celebration.

While consoling the family on their mother whom he described as a great icon, frontline Senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Chris Asoluka (Okwuruoha) urged them to uphold the sterling qualities that propelled her to enviable height to the admiration of all. He however prayed for the requisite succor and strength to cope with their loss.

Though, Amb Chinedu as being a prominent Imo son, the massively publicized burial will witness the presence of dignitaries from all walks of life, including top government officials like the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Speaker Imo House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, Dr. Osmond Ukanacho, Chief Gibson Achonwa, Mrs. Ijeoma Nwafor, Prof Jude Njoku and host of others who will be coming to honour his late mother.
