Workshop For PDP Female Aspirants Holds Wednesday In Abuja

As part of its strategy to equip women with the capacity to fully participate in the forth-coming Primaries and Congresses, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tuesday said it will hold a one-day workshop for all its female aspirants on Wednesday, October 15  at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, at 10:00am.

The Workshop, according to a statement issued by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, is being organised by the National Woman Leader of the party, Amb. Kema Chikwe, and it will be hosted by the  First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan and supported by the   Minister of Women Affairs Hajiya Zainab Maina.

The statement quoted the National Woman Leader as saying that the aim of the workshop is to maximise the gains of President Goodluck Jonathan's drive for increased female representation in elective and public offices and to prepare all female aspirants, including all the incumbents for the task of contesting for elective positions in 2015.

Resource persons, the statement added, are drawn from seasoned political stakeholders while the International Republican Institute (IRI) is expected to provide technical support.
