Ambode visits Badagry

LAGOS State gubernatorial hopeful, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has visited the ancient town of Badagry where he was received by chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ambode who spent a chunk of his civil service life in Badagry as the council's treasurer was welcomed by a large number of party supporters and people led by a former Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State, Sunny Ajose.

Ambode who explained his vision and desire to be the next governor said that he believed that God endowed him with the capacity to build on the foundation laid by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola and to take Lagos State to the next level. He solicited support to win the primaries of the party.

He said that he was not a stranger to Badagry having served as the council's treasurer during his career in the civil service, which gave him first-hand knowledge of their developmental needs. He promised to bring his managerial acumen to bear on governance in Lagos and would definitely address these needs if eventually elected governor.

He added that his experience in almost all the local governments of Lagos for most part of his 27 years in the civil service of the state stood him out as the one closest to the grassroots who surely should know where the shoe pinches.

Ajose commended Ambode for finding the time to visit Badagry. He said that like other aspirants Ambode was eminently qualified to be the next governor of Lagos State especially being very close to the grassroot. He acknowledged that the people were aware that his closeness to Badagry in particular would be of great advantage to them.

He wished him success during the primaries election and promised the party support for him during the election if he won the ticket of the APC for the governorship election.

It was a hell of time for Ambode to leave the town as he was practically mobbed by the mammoth crowd of party members and the people of Badagry.
