BEVERLY HILLS, September 25, (THEWILL) - The terrorist group Boko Haram has released one of the over 200 schoolgirls it seized in April from a government secondary school in Chibok, Borno State.

Police Force spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu told journalists during a routine press briefing at the National Information Centre, Abuja, that the girl was dropped off on Wednesday evening along Mubi Road, Borno State by members of the sect.

Representatives of federal government and Boko Haram have held talks that could see the government release some Boko Haram fighters in its custody in exchange for the girls.

The Coordinator of the National Information Center, Mr. Mike Omeri during the briefing said the over 135 Boko Haram fighters that surrendered to federal troops following the killing of the sect's leader, Abubakar Shekau, would be reintegrated back into the society after their rehabilitation and reorientation.
