Sometimes what is think is going on is not what is going on.

Tomorrow the 25th is the day that His Justice's ruling on the claim brought before him by Messers Ebah in which the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition ) Law is sought to be repealed and declared unconstitutional. I am no lawyer and don't do UN , but a Christian LGBT film maker and Lobbyist and here are my candid thoughts which I feel I can express at this stage.

For me I think the decision would be a NO to repeal but that the law will stand as is. I arrived at that conclusion based on three things .

Firstly: we have been told by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, who earlier this year had told the United Nations that Nigeria will not repeal the law banning same-sex relationship and marriage. He urged the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Navi Pillay, who had paid him a courtesy –“ to accept Nigeria's position on same-sex marriage.” As according to him, same-sex marriage is against the way of life of Nigerians who have expressed support for the government on the anti-gay law. Apparently 99 % of Nigerians supported the anti-gay law.

Secondly : the matter had over run its course in the courts with the judge failing to issue a ruling within the 90 days period. According to the website of Enahoro and Associates the acting lawyer on the case, the ruling was supposed to have been issued on June 20thbut had been postponed by the judge who later rescheduled it for the 25thof September – well over the 90 day period allowed by the Constitution of Nigeria in dispensing a Human Rights claim. I feel that in this the Claimants were tricked…but I like said I am no lawyer ..

If the ruling was favourable and a repeal allowed wouldn't the opponents claim the 90 day rule which the judge failed to deliver within and render the decision as null and voided?

Thirdly : and the most important point from a spiritual point of view , 99.9% of the Christianopponents of the Anti Same Sex Law are still under the Law of Moses ( Legalism) & have not processed Grace in their spiritual understanding - this is a dangerous place to be at for we are told that with the Law of Moses shall no man be Saved {Galatians 2:16, Romans 3:20 } as there is No Sacrifice( Jesus ) there and so they would subscribe to the view that Same Sex relationship are not allowed let alone the marriages.

Nigerian Christians on the whole have not processed the fact that we are not under the Law of Moses but under Grace. You see it is like this no Christian LGBT ( yes there are Christian Gays and Lesbians & Transgendered) would disagree with the Word of God, in that there was a ban against us in the Book of the Law ( also called Law of Moses) Leviticus 18:22, 20:13 tells us this – this is known as Ordinance ( ie Law) and was what was referred to in the Law of Grace in Colossians 2:14 that – the hand writing of Ordinance that was against us and contrary to us , Jesus blotted it out and nailed it to the Cross. Basically every Law that was against every WHOSOEVER ( John 11;25, 26 etc) that was in the law of Moses Jesus has now repealed in the Law of Grace ( New Testament) . As a Christian we are told and believe that Jesus came to abolish the law and establish Grace Hebrews 10:9 tells us this 0- His Mission Statement and job that He did , Galatians 3:13 takes the message to the point , Jesus suffered for us and became a Curse for us – every law of Moses that was broken there was a Curse attached to the breaking of it . Jesus suffered that Curse and Penalty for us , He was and is the ONLY SACRIFICE ( atonement) for the breaking of the Law of God that God established. Without Jesus we would be still in sin ( as we could not keep the laws of Moses) . If any one believes in Jesus they would see that He abolished the Law and Established Grace. My great concern is that Nigerian Christians do not and have not processed that in their Walk with the Lord. What it means to be under Christ. They mix the Law of Moses with the Law of Christ, and this you cant do we are told we cannot serve two masters only 1. We are married to Christ and His Law and must submit only to Him. If we are to look at this theory presented another way , does imprisoning someone for their sexuality show the Love of Christ? No it doesn't . Even if you felt and are still in the dark about the abolition of the Law of Moses whether due to the veil that is in your heart or by deliberate decision to remain under it, YOU MUST see that even if you felt same sex to be abnormal and an illness YOUR JOB is to heal the sick( Mathew 10 :8) and not imprison. Yet the truth of the matter is that Jesus has abolished the law and established Grace and like the first Apostles my fear is that the Judaizers ( Acts 15) have prevailed over the Nigerian Saints and placed them back under the Law where no man is justified and come to steal their Sovereignty in Him. . Galatians 3:1 . You don't have to understand this gay thing only be a Light of Love to the world. Jesus came to give Life and Life in Abundance and not to imprison..know the Spirit that you are born again of.(Luke 9:54-55) So you see this Law is of interest to all.
