Youths endorses Ikuforiji for Lagos Guber race.
Recently, a team of young professionals, entrepreneurs and students paid a courtesy visit to the Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the Honorable Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly at the House Complex to intimate the 3-term working Speaker and exemplary leader about their plans and readiness to support the Speaker on his future ambitions particularly his candidacy at becoming the next Governor of the state.
In his speech, the leader and convener of Adeyemi Ikuforiji Youth Vanguard, Mr. Samuel Oyatolu praised the leadership of the House and the Speaker for his fatherly roles and support towards the cause of Lagosians and making Lagos the hub of Africa economy and excellence through legislation and effective law making process in the history of Nigeria and West Africa at large. He said "if young people are to be patriotic,democratic, responsible and participatory in governance, it is highly unrealistic to suddenly expect them to leave up to expectation without any prior exposures to the skills and responsibilities involve".
On this note, the Adeyemi Ikuforiji Youth Vanguard has identified with a working Speaker and believes that the future of Lagos is not only brighter but clearer with Hon. Ikuforiji as the touch bearer.
He further reiterated that the youths, market women, professionals are ready to support his candidacy as the next touch bearer that can take the State to the promise land which the incumbent Governor is heading towards.
In a wonderful interactive speech by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji applauded the visit and commended the effort of youths in the State at waking up to the timely politics and politicking of the Lagosians. In his speech, "it is indeed an honour and privilege to be identified by the youth because they constitute 60% of the population", if emerged as the Governor of the Lagos state, my plans are simple and concise and it will be encompassing development, sustainable and productive atmosphere. He therefore enjoined the youth of the State to be focus and diligent in their doings.
The Speaker was accompanied by Hon. Olumuyiwa Jimoh, Mr. Ayo Akinribiuro and Comrade Olanrenwaju Suraju among other personalities.
The youth movement handed over a portrait frame to the Hon. Speaker for his laudable programmes and achievements in the state as a token of appreciation to his good works.
