Borno : Yoruba Community Donates Relief Materials To Displaced Persons

BEVERLY HILLS, September 23, (THEWILL) - The ongoing relief efforts to persons displaced by Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State got a boost Tuesday as the Yoruba community in the state contributed their widow's mite to the efforts.

Leading members of the community to the NYSC orientation camp where most of the displaced persons are accommodated to present the relief materials which included food and other consumables, was the Mai Yorubawa of Borno, Alhaji Hassan Yusuf Alao.

While consoling the people over the unfortunate incident, Alao said the Yoruba community was reaching out to the displaced out of love and care for them.

'We feel the pain of the displaced people that is why we decided to present this token as our own contribution to assist the people. It is not this little gift that matter but the spirit behind it,” he said.

He however called for the restoration of peace in the state and all over the country.

While receiving the items, the Chairman of the sub-committees for the internally displaced people at NYSC camp, Abba Yarama Bukar, expressed gratitude to the the Yoruba community for being part of the relief efforts.
