2015: Gang Up Against Buhari By Atiku, Kwankwaso May Rip APC Apart

Source: pointblanknews.com

There are strong indications that General Muhammadu Buhari's bid to fly

the flag of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in next year's presidential

election may hit the rock.
Therefore, the plot to scheme him out  may cause a major division within

the opposition party, Pointblanknews.com investigations reveal.

Three factors stand against him today.  His age, and his serial failures

and how he is perceived in the south.  It is the view of some party top

shots and rank and file that the same issues that worked against him in

2003, 2007 and 2011 were still in the minds of the electorate, who, the

source said, were spread across the northern parts of the country.

It is a catch 22 situations for the APC because whoever is picked may have

a backlash unlike the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP). If the party picks

Buhari they brighten their chances in the North West and North East, but

it dims in the North Central, South West, South South and South East.  If

they dump him, he may pull out his Congress for Progressive Change, CPC,

and this spells doom for the APC in his zone because he has more followers

than Kwankwaso and Atiku in that axis, an analyst opined.

Already, some die-hard supporters of General Buhari from the defunct CPC

which merged to form the APC have threatened to pull out of the party

should “money bags” within the opposition party scheme out the retired

general from the race.
Sources also hinted that the Buhari elements are angry that some new

members who defected from the PDP to the APC are attempting to bribe their

way into getting the Presidential ticket of the APC.

They fear that the Presidential Primaries of the party would not be free

and fair as Buhari may not be able to come up with finances enough to

bribe delegates.
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar and

some elements in the APC have perfected plans to scheme out Buhari from

the Presidential race arguing that he is “too old and a hard sell.”

As it stands today, the chances of Atiku, Kwankwaso, Speaker Aminu

Tambuwal and even Sam Ndah Isiah are brighter than Buhari's, considering

the odds.
They claim he is too old, a serial Presidential election loser and not

sellable to the entire Nigeria. They said he has already been branded a

religious bigots owing to his previous comments in supporting Boko Haram

as such would be a hard sell.
Buhari is insisting on contesting. Several emissaries sent to him, he has

rebuffed. They argue that he should allow the younger generations contest

the APC Presidential ticket. Buhari is banking on his huge support from

the North West and insisting he is the only one who can win going by what

he argue is the current resentment by Nigerians against the PDP

Buhari elements and other top members in APC threaten to dump the party

should he not clinch the Party ticket.
In the whole trouble brewing in the APC, Tinubu is said to have not

interfered or seen to be backing any group.
Since Buhari traveled overseas for medical check, elements in the APC have

been meeting trying to convince his loyalists to prevail on the retired

General to drop his ambition. Some supporters of Kwankwaso have been

meeting with Buhari's group with a view of brokering a deal for the North

West zone to produce a single candidate instead of Buhari and Kwankwaso

slugging it out.
At a recent exploratory meeting in Kaduna, sources told Pointblanknews.com

that both group could not reach a consensus on whether or not an agreement

should be reach on a working relationship. Both group agreed to meet again

when General Buhari returns from his overseas trip.
