STAKEHOLDERS IDENTIFY NIGERIA'S ICT POTENTIALS AT 5TH ANNUAL NIGERIACOM CONFERENCE

Nigeria has been identified as a vibrant nation capable of leading Africa into the digital world, if its huge ICT potentials are unlocked. The country's rapid rate of internet penetration, ICT adoption and contributions of telecoms operator like Airtel Nigeria, have been linked to the steady socio-economic development witnessed in the country over the last decade.

These facts were highlighted at the 5th Annual Nigeria Com Conference, where leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria, joined ICT professionals, policy makers, digital solutions providers and other key stakeholders in Nigeria and from across the world to discuss critical issues in Nigeria's ICT sector.

Airtel's Director of Mobile Data, Digital & Innovation, Airtel Nigeria, Nitin Anand, in his presentation titled 'Digital Economy in Africa' expounded the possibilities of Nigeria to lead Africa into the digital world. Director of Regulatory Affairs and Special Projects, Airtel, Osondu Nwokoro, also took part in discussion session on 'Unlocking Growth Potential Through Robust National Broadband Strategy.'

The 2-day conference held on 16th to 17th September 2014, featured exhibition, roundtable regulatory discussions and professional networking. Airtel Nigeria was the Host Operator at the 5th Nigeria Com Conference held at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos on Tuesday.
