Yobe : Additional 49 Medical Students Placed On Monthly Salaries

BEVERLY HILLS, September 15, (THEWILL) - Additional 49 medical students of Yobe State origin studying in different institutions of higher learning across the world have been placed on monthly salaries of grade level 07.

The state Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, gave approval to this effect in an effort to continue to re-position the State's healthcare sector and ensure steady supply of quality manpower.

In June, Governor Gaidam had approved the placement of 104 medical students on salary Grade Level 07 and with the latest addition, the total number of medical students to benefit this policy comes to 153.

Meanwhile, the State Government has started processing other applications from medical students willing to benefit from the scheme.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser on Press Affairs and Information to the governor, Mallam Abdullahi Bego, said : “All medical students currently sponsored by the State Government will be employed automatically by the government after obtaining their medical degrees.”

He said the state government had also employed 52 nurses who have successfully passed their Nursing and Midwifery Council Examinations.

“The Gaidam administration will continue on this track, taking all measures necessary to ensure a healthcare system which provides quality and affordable care for the people of the state,' Bego said.
