OBA ALARA EULOGIZES ASHAFA'S EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE
WISHES HIM WELL IN HIS NEXT POLITICAL MOVE
The Lagos first class traditional ruler and the Alara of Ilara, HRM Oba Akeem Adesanya, has eulogized the senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, 'Gbenga Ashafa for his frequent philanthropic acts towards the people of the senatorial district. The Alara made this known during another Mega Empowerment Programme sponsored by the lawmaker at Epe Local Government Secretariat recently.
The monarch who described Ashafa as the true son of the soil from the Epe axis, showered encomiums on him as one of the outstanding leaders the district had ever produced in the political history of the area.
"There is no gainsaying the fact that Senator Ashafa has done wonderfully well within his three years in the senate.
"All his 76 Constituency Projects can be felt across the length and breadth of the district. As a first term senator, he has proved all Doubting Thomases wrong, especially with his recent Mega Empowerment Programme which he started at Ibeju-Lekki, then Somolu and today in Epe.
"I was told that this same Mega Empowerment Programme will soon be extended to Kosofe and Ikorodu Local Government Areas. All these truly indicate that he is the masses' choice when it comes to delivering the dividends of democracy in fulfilling his campaign promises back then in 2011." He said
The Alara went further to say that "with thousands of beneficiaries in today's empowerment programme, there is no doubt that if he is given another responsibility greater than this, he would perform better. I am using this medium to implore all APC Party leaders and members to rally round this Ibeju-born politician for he is committed to the welfare of his people at the grassroots and I wish him well in his future ambition." He said
Among the empowerment tools given to the beneficiaries, there were Sewing machines and tailoring accessories, Vulcanizing Machines, Barbing kits and Power Generators, Airtime Vouchers, GSM Phones, Umbrella stands, Chairs and Tables, Hair dryers among others.
The mega empowerment programme which had beneficiaries from Epe, Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin was witnessed by top politicians in Epe. Some of which include Chief Lanre Rasaq, Hon Joko Pelumi, Chief Wasiu Odeyemi, Chief Akinola, Chief Arowojobe, Hon Salau Tunde, Hon Dehinsilu, Alhaji Bankole, Chief Mrs Adekoya, Alhaji Shakirudeen Seriki, Hon. Segun Olulade, Hon Segun Adetola and Hon. Segun Agbaje among others.
Traditional rulers in the area too were not exempted. HRM Oba Akeem Okunola Adesanya, the Alara of Ilara, HRM Oba Olawale Ogunsanya, the Aladegunshenbi of Odoragushin, HRM Oba Adekoya Odusanya, the Olofin Ajaye of Orugbo- Iddo, HRM Oba Orijeru of Igboye, HRM Oba Asunmo Aderibigbe , the Alayandelu of Odo Ayandelu, amongst others.
