…Alleges Governor pockets N700m monthly as security vote

PRESS STATEMENT: AT LAST PPA HAS BEEN VINDICATED
The public statement by billionaire Arthur Eze could not have come at a better time, When in 2010 Governor T.A Orji who was elected under the platform of Progressive People's Alliance, PPA, decamped to APGA and then PDP. He hinged his leaving the Party that did so much by sacrificing many things to get him elected into office as the Governor of Abia State on issues that till date remains unverifiable and has proven to be a lie.

His main cause of action was because the Party gave him an action plan on ways to develop Abia because of the petition we got from the State that the Party rating was going down due to poor performance of the Governor, then the State earns about N3billion every month outside internally generated Revenue (IGR). Back then attention was not paid on the internally generated revenue in the State otherwise they would have been receiving even more money from (IGR). Abia is the commercial Nerve center of the South East we all know that.

Ariara market alone can generate1billion and more a month for the government if it is well managed, but from the 3billion that the state government gets per month back then, it spends about N1.4 billion on its wage bill. So N1.4billion goes out of N3billion every month and out of the N1.6 left to run the state, to build schools, roads, run hospitals and all that. Off the N1.6billion you take out N700 Million every month for security. That is security for you, your wife and your family and you abandoned the people of Abia State. Is that Governance? And when such a report gets to the Party you expect the Party to keep quiet and do nothing about it and sweep it under the carpet, No we refused to do that or close our eyes while everything goes wrong.

PPA was not formed on the basis of misgovernance but on the basis of progress, equity and justice where the people's interest always comes first rather than do that, as a Party we choose to speak, that was his whole issue with regards to leaving the Party and we invited him to come explain so solutions can be proffered rather than coming in to explain he decided to leave the party that brought him into Power. The Party should reign supreme at all times, back then Abia was complaining about security but here we are as a Party, our governor was taking N700 Million every month as security vote. This is a critical self assessment process that the Party took in order to bring development in to Abia State.

But today the Party can now say it has been vindicated after a well respected and reputable person within and outside the context of our country billionaire Arthur Eze on the 23rd anniversary of the State made a public statement as reported in the SUN Newspaper on the bad State of Abia occasioned by maladministration under the current Governor, that Aba stinks, Aba is very dirty and the roads are so bad. he further questioned the conspiracy of Silence of Abia elders and the elected/appointed officers as regards the horrifying infrastructural decay of the State which among other things have dragged Abia “Gods own State” to be treated as one of the most underdeveloped State Of the Federation.

The Statement further strengthened the Party's position that the Governors poor performance was a worrisome dimension and needed to be checked.

The Party came up with a seven point action plan not for T.A Orji but for Progressives People's Alliance to Adopt for the development of the State but what the Party and the electorate got back was a betrayal of trust and Mandate. We want to assure all Abians that come 2015 PPA is determined to make sure with the collaboration of all the People in the State that Abia is rescued from ruins.
