OPEN LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT ON WHY DIEZANI DESERVES TO BE SACKED

Source: thewillnigeria.com

Dear President Goodluck Jonathan,
It so disappointing that it always takes an eternity for you to act, why is Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke still being retained as Minister of Petroleum Resources and the Chair of NNPC when she has been indicted for monumental corruption by the following panels:

i) Aigboje Aig-Imokhuede Committee report on fuel subsidy

(ii) Nuhu Ribadu Committee report on NNPC and fuel subsidy

(iii) KPMG Audit report on NNPC
(iv) Farouk Lawan report on fuel subsidy
(v) NEITI report on NNPC and fuel subsidy
Mr.President the Farouk Lawan Committee on Fuel Subsidy Probe, specifically noted in their Executive Summary that between 2009 and 2011, the sum of N2.58trillion was spent to subsidize petroleum products, N1.6trillion representing about 60 percent of the above amount was spent on petroleum products that were smuggled and sold outside the country

Mr President you said in a recent statement that 60 percent of the amount allegedly squandered on fuel subsidy during the tenure of Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke are in the hands of a few individuals, it has become clear that these individuals are bankrolling your re-election campaign, is this the reason why DIEZANI and the Subsidy schemers are untouchable?

Mr President I am curious when are you going to start holding bad employees accountable? Mr President no serious leader will defend recklessness and financial mismanagement, when are you going to hold Diezani accountable for corruption and mismanagement of our wealth? What justification is there for recently nominating Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke for the position of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)? If she is doing this to the Nigerian economy what will she do to the World economy? Nigerians are curious, what is so unique about Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke? Why are you protecting her?

Even though you have always stressed your commitment to fight corruption, the efforts have been half ass at best, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke has also been accused of squandering N10billion in taxpayers' money to hire private jets within a space of two years, we have $20billion still missing from the NNPC under her watch, why is she still the Minister of Petroleum resources and Chair of NNPC for goodness sake?

I fail to understand why the petition I submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate and prosecute Diezani neither elicited any reply nor did it lead to an invitation of Diezani for questioning by the anti-graft agency. My several open letters to you on this issue have elicited no response from you either, I wonder why?

Mr President failure to sack and prosecute Diezani who is the Chair of NNPC and oversees the entire Oil Sector amounts to you defending stealing, corruption and looting. This monumental corruption in the oil sector the last couple of years led The U.S our biggest trade partner to stop buying our oil, some International Oil Companies (IOCs) like Shell and others have taken similar approaches divesting from Nigeria to the detriment of our economy.

Mr President I will not relent until you sack Diezani because her activities in the oil industry has brought and continue to bring untold shame and hardship to Nigerians both at home and abroad, I will not rest until the operators of the bogus subsidy scheme are brought to justice. I want to assure Nigerians that I am now set to take all necessary and legal processes to ensure justice is served.

MR. PRESIDENT, SACK DIEZANI NOW AND SAVE OUR NATION FROM FURTHER NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT. THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!
