Jonathanians Commend President Jonathan on Ebola Containment, e-ID card

A pro-Jonathan campaign group, The Jonathanians, ‎have commended President Goodluck Jonathan for rising up to the challenge of the dreaded Ebola virus in the country. 

In a statement by its Director of Campaign, Charles Jiduwah, the group said the swift response of the Jonathan administration in containing the spread of the disease is not only commendable but worthy of emulation by neighbouring African countries.

The Jonathanians said the federal government's decisive response to the first index case recorded in Lagos proved critics of the administration who had predicted massive spread of the virus wrong.

Part of the statement read: “The Jonathan administration has shown capacity and capabilities in handling emergencies like the Ebola outbreak has clearly shown and this is only one of several numerous reasons why Nigerians will continue to pitch their tent with the government and be willing to give him a mandate of four more years in office.”

The Jonathanians noted that the containment measures of the government has received commendation from the United Nations, the World Health Organisation, and even the United States Government, demonstrating the obvious fact that the Jonathan administration takes seriously the safety and well being of Nigerian citizens.

While regretting the fresh case recorded in Port Harcourt, Rivers State a few days ago, the group urged Nigerians to remain alert, informed and cooperate with the government in all measures being taken to halt possible spread of Ebola.

The group also commended the president for demonstrating the uncommon Political Will by flagging off the National E-Identity Card project powered by a renowned international Electronic payment company, MasterCard. 

While endorsing the project, the group called on all Nigerians to embrace the project as a step towards ending all social vice currently being threatening our democracy. 

The Jonathanians noted that this singular move has further cemented the President Transformation Agenda.
