The  Peoples Democratic Party Tuesday said President Goodluck Jonathan will make his intention concerning 2015 known soon.

The party said it would be difficult for the President to ignore numerous calls on him to contest for the Presidency in 2015.

National Secretary of the party, Dr. Wale Oladipo, stated this in Abuja  when a pro-Jonathan group – House-2-House Campaign Organisation for Democracy called on the president to re-contest next year at the PDP secretariat.

Oladipo said, “I am not a prophet, but I am sure as a democrat, he (Jonathan) will listen to the clarion call, and I promise that the National Working Committee will do the needful.

“We will deliver your message to the National Chairman of our party, Mr. Adamu Mu'azu, members of the National Working Committee, Board of Trustee and the national convention.”

He further added that the PDP was guided by four cardinal points among which, he said, was service to humility and constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, insisting that “Goodluck Jonathan contested once and if he so desires, he has the right to contest again in 2015.”

Oladipo added that the ruling party was remodelled according to the United States democracy where the right of first refusal was usually given to the president.

He, however, told the group that the NWC would provide level playing ground for all aspirants.

“We share your views and patriotism, PDP is synonymous with Nigeria and Nigeria is PDP,” he said.

Earlier, the Director-General of the group, Ogidi Bara said the group has mobilised and saved N19.5m for the aim of purchasing of nomination form for the president.

He said, “We request that you tell the national chairman of the party, Adamu Mu'azu to forward our message to President Jonathan to re-contest, because he is wanted.”

He applauded Mu'azu for “uniting” the party.
