Enugu State coordinator of the United Progressive Party (UPP) Mr. Ken Onyekaonwu has advised the people to reject the ruling People's Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 general elections insisting that is the best way of salvaging the state from retrogression.

In a statement issued  by Mr. Onyekaonwu identified the PDP as the architect of the problems in the state adding that the ruling party has displayed inability and readiness to rescue the people from hardship.

Said he; 'It is only natural that the good people of Enugu State look elsewhere for the solutions to the problems of the state imposed by the PDP's successive bad leadership occasioned by forceful imposition of poor and wrong candidates on the people.

'No oppressor will ever make good any good plan for the oppressed; after 16 years of PDP mis governance in the state it is apt for the people of the state to consider giving another political party a chance than watching the ship of the state sink.'

The UPP chieftain also dismissed the All Progressive Congress, APC insisting that 'it is suicidal for any candidate to contest elections on the platform of APC.

He described the UPP as the beautiful bride for the state and urged the people to embrace the party and make the necessary changes in the coming general elections to re-direct and reposition Enugu in a better position to take better care of its people especially those I the rural communities.

'APC lacks the necessary acceptance by the people of the state to win ay elections and unless UPP, APGA, or PPA wins any election in Nasarawa or Osun States APC will not find any place in the South East; so our people don't see the party as a choice.

'Those who are considering APC for elections in Enugu state are only doing so just for the sake of contesting elections.'

The Enugu UPP coordinator also rules the All Progressive Grand Alliance out as a possible option arguing that the party lacks the needed unity and profound sense of responsibility to be able to win elections anywhere insisting that UPP is the only true progressive and friendly political party for the people.
