THE PARETO PRINCIPLE

Source: Dr Tosin Akindele & Dr. Shedrack Kenis

I hear some people saying doctors are only 20% of the health work force...obviously this people are not aware of the Pareto Principle.

Definition of '80-20 Rule'

A rule of thumb that states that 80% of outcomes can be attributed to 20% of the causes for a given event. In business, the 80-20 rule is used to help managers identify problems and determine which operating factors are most important and should receive the most attention based on an efficient use of resources.

Resources should be allocated to addressing the input factors that have the most effect on a company's final results.

Also known as the "Pareto principle", the "principle

of factor sparsity" and the "law of the vital few."

Vilfredo pareto is his full name...the rule is applicable to anything e.g 20 % of people control 80% of the wealth of a nation; you need to know only 20% of vocabulary of any language to communicate fluently in it... etc

Tosin Akindele
Sorely pissed off by the general disposition of a nation which expects her doctors to care for her citizens so passionately.....and so commitedly....even onto their death...but does not give a hoot about the lives of these doctors. But dead doctors do not treat....can they?

Nigerians are rest assured that they can always sprint abroad for the most mundane of reasons. But no nation wants Ebola! Therein lies the communal folly!
