The Rantings Of Aipoh! Roforofo Fight In Lagos AGPMPN. Fraud Again?
I woke up this morning to sift through my pile of accumulated mails only to be confronted with the junk below. The piece reeks of bad diction and the subject matter is misted....but it appears that there is an inhouse "roforofo" fight over embezzled funds of the Lagos Branch of the AGPMPN (Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria)...which the writer (or writers) was babbling to explain away!
He urges us to see an architect for confirmation of his team's propriety...as he seeks avenues of exoneration and escape from the wrath of members. But I say why not a tested firm of auditors? The dramatis personnae already soiled the image of the association by going public with their sordid squabble....and besides, how do we launder fraud....by hiding facts? They admit....in public....that funds have been looted...of a REGISTERED ASSOCIATION. A crime has been committed....for which security agents should be brought in....not a mere in-house matter!
Over the years, this association had displayed higher skills at arm-twisting members to pay dues than use such funds to better the lot of members! For starters, if they did not invite me when sharing looted funds, why pollute my day with details of their current rant and horrid dogfight? And next time they send out a correspondence, it should at least be rendered in good english! Now the said mail:
Dear All.,
We hope this meets you well.
You must have been kept abreast of recent developments that have taken the form of intimidation, character assassination, humiliation, campaign of calumny , and unwarranted falsehood and blackmail on the person and office of the AGPMPN Chairman , Lagos State.
This is to assure you that leadership has a price and this is one of such very costly prices.
When postings like "Analyser", in Port Harcourt AGPMPN AGM Election 2014, "Diagnostix" in NMA Lagos election 2014, "AGPMPNWAYO!" 2014, etc came up attacking the person of Dr Adeyeye Arigbabuwo, as well as the Office of the AGPMPN Chairman Lagos State, and a few ones attacking the team and General Secretary, Dr Austine Aipoh, many were taken aback with assumptions that Political detractors and Mischief Makers especially from possible adversaries outside the structure of AGPMPN must have been responsible.
But events proved later this Friday 25th July 2014, that the writer could not have been a ghost but a group of dissidents with subversive motives to rubbish the structure and threaten the corporate existence and image of AGPMPN Lagos State, traceable to collaborators in house.
It was an incredible development and heartbreaking news that some of those trusted to defend the corporate existence of the association were found to be either Author, Originator, or collaborators in this painful and unfortunate development.
In a bid to restore peace and ensure we demonstrate leadership maturity, those who cared to know a few facts were given when they approached as emissaries with a posture of Peace Mission.. But it was unfortunate that some transmuted this to bulk sms and started postings with their personally generated funds.
We want to officially inform you that the structure of the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners in Lagos State is INTACT and UNWAVERING irrespective of the undeserved provocative messages, telephone threats ( of kidnap and assasination bids the Chairman has received in the last 48 hours), sms, libelous write ups etc designed to cause serious distraction for the leadership as well as sow seed of discord in the rank and file of the officers.
If it is written by providence that it is our blood they intend to shed to appease themselves, and if they are so permitted by God, which we doubt, be it so, as AGPMPN is worth the sacrifice as an enviable association of seasoned doctors some of us have invested so much to build even at the expense of our good health amd (sic) matrimonial and professional comfort.
This is the candid resolve of some of us if only to redeem the association and work on complete emancipation from penury and oppression they have subjected our colleagues to over the years. But not all share our vision and mission, and it is not surprising).
We are daily having meetings / contacts with our Architect & her team, and weekly Lagos State Land Bureau. We even had a meeting on Friday 25th July 2014 despite all the designed ill intent aggressions and distractions to make sure we did not achieve progress. God has always been on our side.

She is Architect Okuboye (Sure she and her team can also oblige you details of our last meeting of Friday 25/7/14) . A couple of our detractors are also member(s) of the Building Committee whose Chairman just relocated to Benin, in the person of Dr Marcus Eruaga.
A new team as announced to you in the last 2 months are taking up further development. Do not be misinformed or misguided by any mischief maker. We shall not be blackmailed to give what all of us should supervise to a couple of disgruntled and self styled emergency contactor(s) individuals even when we are still mapping strategies of prudent funds assemblage/allocation for our project.
We are fully committed and by this message informing you of our collective resolve and determination to move the association forward WITHOUT FURTHER response to any form of distractions in order to thwart the efforts and design of those behind the unfortunate development.
No one is expected to be more catholic than the Pope. We therefore cannot see anyone more touched than the leadership with sacrifices unlimited day and nights to build on the present gains of the association.
We appeal to those behind this sinful design meant to pull down our dear association to remember God and allow the administration succeed as we have no other group we can call our own.
The recent NMA election, with or without pronounced AGPMPN success at the polls should not tear AGPMPN , Lagos State apart . We should also not submit ourselves to be used as agents of subversion. Our labour has been quite enormous and the efforts of our past heroes will not be in vain.
We also appeal to those who may be nursing any political ambition in the association to remember that the Group interest is more important than any individual interest. It is becoming customary that individuals with political agenda turn themselves to agents to embark on actions that may look subversive and similar to desperation of partisan politicking. They seem to hate good scorecards.
It is also an offense for anyone to start engaging in public campaign for succession with a siting team in an action that may be similar to mutiny, felony, or bring ridicule, disrepute etc to the image of the association. Such ambition may be taken to be inordinate and ill conceived.
We therefore appeal to those in that posture to suspend their political campaigns till appropriate time when the stage may appear set. The electorates who are noble doctor colleagues are intelligent enough to know who is fooling who. Afterall it is a family association , voluntary and structure fashioned where we have to make respect reciprocal.
Our sanity as a people is also being assessed by observers and outsiders. Inordinate political ambition should not make us cheap subject to a cabal that have held the association branch hostage for a few years. Political desperation does not make good intention appreciated by those who are poised to spoil.
We must begin to build on progressive template. We are also not in a hurry to be stampeded or humiliated out of office as NO ONE DREAMS OF SUCCESS WITHOUT GOOD SUCCESSOR. Our rigthts are equal but we will not watch our labour rubbished by hijackers who are not ready to sustain progressive moves for AGPMPN Lagos Branch contrary to the will of the good doctors of AGPMPN and the expectation of well wishers amongst us, no matter in what form they may clothe this. We have both constitutional and moral duty to give report of our stewardship at the set time. You will not be disappointed as we represent your interest and hope.
For those who are anxious to be partakers in what they may have assumed to be landslide contract in the AGPMPN Doctors House project, kindly be reminded that this administration has never launched a Fund raising event to amaze (sic!) money for the Building Project since we came on board. We have, in our own collective resolve and joint responsibilty, taken a decision that we shall be setting aside some amount, no matter what, for the take off of the Foundation of the Building project from our Annual Due. This was based on the adoption of the principle of Financial prudence and discipline, despite the servicing.
of huge debts and responsibilities at the various NEC meetings of the AGPMPN. Instead of them to encourage us work in this direction and achieve the set objective, they have put up their "Business
as Usual" posture to loot the treasury they never worked to build. It is painful and unfortunate.
We assure every law abiding member of our dear association that our collective resolve will be our watchword. Our word is our bond.
For those working on unimaginable figures of resources of AGPMPN income for 2 years, we also appeal to them not to misinform our eminent and noble members who we owe our account of stewardship at the appropriate time. We are just a branch and cannot bear the burden for the entire nation.
Lagos doctors work to get their meagre income. We have tried. We are on good record on National AGPMPN Financial remittance standing, and no one should feed you with wrong information to stir crisis. Some people are simply Anti-Lagos AGPMPN. Trying to stir crisis , disunity, seed of discord etc will not only be a sin to humanity but a condemnation in the sight of God if they truly believe there is a God who watches after the affairs of men.
If our members who we won their confidence enough to work day and night voted us in then the issue of accountability would be for progress and not the very purpose the subversive intentions portray.
We regret to let you know that as we labour day and night to build a good structure for Lagos State, some individuals who we could not trace their branch or state of loyalty are daily working a pull down for the Lagos Branch of AGPMPN.
The recent style they just adopted is that if they came up with blackmail and campaign of calumny, intimidation, persecution, name calling etc then we shall see that period of travail, tribulation, temptation, trials, and assault as a stampede and catalyst to vomit information we are readily sure would shortchange the branch and bring us at least 20 years backward as our project plan/ Road Map appears an Assault to them and intimidating.
We have the resolve to MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR.
We are people of integrity, character and purpose.
We shall not disappoint you or the trust reposed in us.
Every bit of our decision has a purpose.
Only good people celebrate success, but the wicked celebrate failure.
We shall not fail with your support.
We appeal you remain calm and focused while the ordeal lasts.
