President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has sent a message of Felicitation to Muslim faithful in Nigeria as they join the rest of the world to celebrate this year's  EID EL-FITR marking the end of the Ramadan fast.

Senator Mark in a goodwill message in Abuja  congratulated them for the successful  completion of the fasting and prayer which he said the nation most desires at this trying times.

He lamented the unabating security challenges the country is facing at the moment and called for collective action of all citizens against the terrorists to end the menace.

According to Senator Mark: ” the prevailing situation does not call for blame game but a collective action of all citizens against the terrorists. We should have confidence on our security operatives and encourage them to do more.

“The Unfolding scenario clearly indicates that the terrorists have declared  open war on every body and there seems to be no safe heaven any more. This is a challenge we must unite to tackle.

“One way out of this quagmire is to have a common approach  against terrorists irrespective of political , ethnic or religious affiliation. What is paramount now is our collective survival as a people and nation. This is our fatherland. We have a collective responsibility to protect our common destiny”.

Senator Mark also lamented that the over 200 Chibok Secondary Schools  girls abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram more than 100 days ago are still held in captivity by their captors .

He however assured :” I trust that all the strategies and contacts being done by the Federal Government couple with international cooperation would yield the required dividends and free our girls alive soon”.

He prayed for the good health and security of the girls just he renewed his appeal on their captors to hearken to the voices of reason and free the girls whose only offence is that they chose to be educated to better their lots and contribute to the political and socio- economic development of their fatherland.

He prayed for the peace and continued cooperate existence of Nigeria hoping that the challenges especially insecurity would be surmounted in no distant  time.
