Gov. Orji Expresses Shock Over Rilwan Lukeman’s Death

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has expressed shock and sadness at the news of the death of former Minister of Petroleum and erstwhile Secretary General of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Alhaji Rilwan Lukeman in a Vienna, Austria hospital at the age of 76.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, Governor Orji noted the contributions of the former minister towards the growth of the country's economy and OPEC.

According to him, late Rilwan's invaluable contributions towards the growth of OPEC where he served as president and secretary general in 1986 and 1995 respectively is commendable, pointing out that late Lukeman was appointed into various positions in the presidency at various times due to his wealth of experience and impeccable character.

Governor Orji condoled with the deceased family on the sad loss of their father as well as the government and people of Kaduna State on the loss of the elder statesman.
