President Jonathan names Chidoka new Aviation Minister, appoints Oyeyemi new FRSC Boss

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive meeting, swore in the two ministers confirmed by the Senate last week.

Former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Osita Chidoka, has been named the new Minister of Aviation. He will replace Mrs. Stella Oduah who was relieved of her job late last year over controversies of purchase of bullet proof BMW cars. The new Minister of National Planning and Deputy Chairman of the National Planning Commission, is a former lecturer at the University of Abuja, Dr. Suleman Abubakar.

With his assignment to the National Planning, it means the former minister of National Planning, Dr. Yuguda will only be saddled with the duties of minister of state for Finance.

Jonathan charged that the new ministers to bw up and doing, adding that they were appointed at injury time to bring their experience to bear in Government’s implementation of the Transformation Agenda. He urged them to ensure that they leave their footprints in the offices they were deployed to.

In the same vein, President Jonathan also named Deputy Corps Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi as new Corp Marsal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The President explained Oyeyemi was appointed as boss of FRSC to ensure stability and expressed his hope that the new FRSC boss will take the sector to a new height. He noted that his appointment was a clear departure from what has been obtainable in the past when its heads are sourced from outside the system.
