Sarki Sanusi flew in to Kano from the seat of Caliphate Tuesday Morning.

The new Kano Emir was in Sokoto to discuss the way forward with Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar.

Pointblanknews.com visited Murtala Muhammad Hospital where over 20 students are currently receiving treatment at D-Ward.

Checks reveal that blood donors and students of the school have thronged the hospital in order to save the lives of their colleagues by voluntarily offering themselves to donate blood.

Our Correspondent reports that there is an increase in the death toll, bringing the number, according government officials, to seven.

A victim, Malam Adamu Haladu (30) who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital said, “I underwent all necessary procedures to secure admission in the school. The day I collected my admission letter, I was elated. On that Monday morning, I was so happy that I was going to sign all necessary documents; but fate had it that way. I give glory to all Mighty Allah that I survived it.

“What happened was a serious tragedy that I have never experienced in my life. At that time, we were all waiting for the Provost but I decided to stand where the Provost of the school packed his car, as we were waiting, he came in, I immediately informed my parents that the Provost was around, as I dropped the call; the next thing I head was a deafening sound which looked as if I was slapped on my face. All I noticed was that my two legs were shattered. I managed to crawl on my chest out of the scene of the incident. All I will say is that only God will repay those behind this dastardly act of sniffing life out of the innocent Nigerians.”

Another victim, Auwalu Mohammed (29), a student of the school said, “on Monday, I went to the school to check my results. I was standing beside a vehicle parked within the scene of the incident when the blast came, and I was devastated, unconscious.”

Auwalu who spoke with chokes of pains and agony, “but as God may have it, this is my fate and experience. This is the problem I have fallen into, but Ii thank God, everything that happened is destined by God, so who ever are those that are behind what happened to us, may God guide them to the right part because I will never wish them bad; but we continue that all mighty Allah will guide them so that they can embrace the truth and follow the right path.”

A guardian of a victim, Alhaji Muhammad Lawal said, “I came to visit the son of my sister, Abdulmutalib who is a student of the school. What has happened to this boy must have been destined by God, we had gone to the school to collect admission letter when the incident happened. He sustained fractures in both legs, but all I will say is that we are begging the state government to kindly take proper care of the the affected victims because most have second degree burns and some of them have lost a lot of blood which needs urgent attention for their survival.

However the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammad Sunusi II who flew in from Sokoto after a meeting with the Sultan of Sokoto, Sir Abubakar III, immediately dashed to the hospital to pay a sympathy visit to the affected victims of the school bomb blast of Monday, described the incident as dastardly and cruel.

The Emir said that, the incessant terrorist attack in the country is assuming a dangerous dimension, which needed concerted effort by stakeholders to tackle  the security situation.

According to him, as it is now spreading fast, all they needed, is to pray for Allah's intervention to put a halt to the ugly situation, adding that, it is only Allah in his infinity mercy that can bring  a permanent  solution to the security problem.

He however called on the State government not to relent in it's efforts in supporting the affected victims who are on admission at the hospital.

The monarch prayed for those who sustained injury for fast recovery and the repose of the dead.

Meanwhile, the Kano state Governor, Rabiu Musa has described the explosion at  School of Hygiene in the state by insurgents as very unfortunate, even as he commended the security agents for arresting one of the suspects at the scene of the attack.

He stated this when he paid a visit to the site of the explosion at the School premises immediately after visiting the victims at Murtale Mohammed Specialists Hospital  where he was received by the Principal of the school, the state commissioner of police and state Director of State Security services.

The governor called on the security agencies in the state to continue working with the state government to make the state free from insurgencies and any form of criminality, pointing out that what happen in the school was “unthinkable considering the fact that the victims were only seeking for admission into a an institution that will train them in offering humanitarian services for the betterment of the society.”

He appealed to people in the state to be vigilant in their places of work, businesses and wherever they find themselves, adding that they should report any suspicious movement to the nearest security agencies in order to prevent loss of lives and properties of innocent people.

Although, this is an act of which is God has destined to happen, he urged the security at the gate to be properly monitoring the entrance properly and screen those that come into the school as doing so will make them detect all criminal elements.

Briefing the governor earlier, the state commissioner of police, Adenrele Shinaba revealed that so far eight people have died while 25 were injured receiving medication at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.

Earlier when the governor paid a sympathy visit to the injured at the hospital where he was conducted round by the managements, Governor Kwankwaso directed that they should be treated freely as government would take full responsibility for their treatment.
