2015: Delta North leaders make Olejeme sole candidate

By Delta South leaders

Top Anioma leaders on Thursday gathered in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area to chart the way forward for the senatorial area.

The meeting under the aegis of Delta North Political Leaders Forum (DNPLF) was attended by prominent citizens of the area.

In a statement issued after the meeting by DNPLF spokesperson, Chief Magnus Osakwe, the leaders pledged to support the chairman of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Dr. Ngozi Olejeme for the state's topmost political seat.

The leaders who hinged their support for Olejeme on her landmark achievements as NSITF chairman said the next governor should be someone who can govern, transform and develop the state as well as save it from drift after 2015.

'Delta State requires in 2015 the right leadership that will take it to the next level. Delta needs a leadership that will provide the momentum for growth and prosperity'

The leaders, while describing Olejeme as a trusted hand, said that she represents politics of development in Nigeria.

'Olejeme is the people's choice. She is a bridge builder and a grassroots politician. Her records in administration are excellent and clear testimonies of a committed leader. Her vision, credibility and upright nature are attributes that appear most to people. She has over the years woven a network of contacts with key players of the Nigerian power game. She will propel Delta State to higher planes of development' the statement said.

The forum urged the people not to support any aspirant that has been identified as part of the factors militating against the progress of the area.

'The time has come to make sacrifices. Let us bury our differences, let us halt political jokers and opportunists from further sucking our blood and mortgaging our future. The time is ripe for a governor of Anioma extraction. Let us mobilize to push Olejeme in the interest of our state and the future' the statement said.

The forum also called on Urhobo, Okpe, Itsekiri, Isoko and Ijaw leaders to support Olejeme.

'Let us ensure that this humble leader becomes our governor in 2015' the leaders appealed.
