Death Is A Spirit, the Last Defeated Enemy of Human Beings and God

I sat forlornly upset and spent force inside the dingy cavernous underground prison of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) in 1997 wondering why this happened to him. It was during the tearful years of late Gen Abacha's military dictatorship. I had been kidnapped in Cotonou, Benin Republic by his goons back to Nigeria during my active journalism years in Nigeria. (http://www.cpj.org/attacks98/1998/Africa/NigeriaSR.html#intro).As I bemoaned my predicament, refusing to eat for seven days, beginning from Friday February 14 and Friday February 21, 2013, I went into a trance and saw a vision, not a dream. I wasn't sleeping; it was not at night and so was vainly aware of events around me. Then I heard a Voice who called my name three times. This was not an ordinary Voice. The Voice announced: “I am Jesus Christ, the One Who created you. I have brought you here to use you. A Bible would be given to you shortly and you'll work for Me.” The voice was soothing and lovely. I could still hear those words in my heart as if it were yesterday. Hours later as the Voice instructed, the pastor of the “church” inside the gulag but far away from my dungeon, an Ibo chap, called across the dungeon from the rest detainees and asked if I would love to have a book to read, a Bible, but this was no ordinary Bible. You see, three weeks earlier, the Lord had instructed him to send one of the guards to purchase three large print editions of the NIV and he did. He was using one himself to minister to other detainees, one was kept for general use of the rest detainees and he kept one still wrapped intact not knowing what to do with it. Shortly after the Lord Jesus Christ spoke to me few hours earlier, something told him to call me inside my quarantined Gulag and gave the third Large Print Bible NIV edition to me. Do you see how the Lord God Almighty does things? When He speaks, he confirms His words, in accordance with scripture: “If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.” (Deuteronomy 18: 22). But the Voice I had just heard was the Voice of the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, Hallelujah! That is how to know the Voice of God Almighty and the Deceiver-Satan. Whatever God says to you, either as a directive, an instruction, or a revelation, it must come to pass. The Holy Spirit, speaking through Elihu declared in Job 33: 13-16 that God Almighty speaks to us although human beings may not perceive it. “Why do you complain to him that he answers none of man's words? For God does speak - now one way, now another - though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds…” God spoke during the days of Job, before Job's years and even today, He speaks to us but the problem is that “…though man may not perceive it,” (Job 33:14b). You see what the Holy Spirit said there? That God speaks to all human beings, but because a lot of people are spiritual morons, they can't get it. Read the whole of Job 33 and find out the 13 reasons God Almighty speaks to human beings and the four ways, later in the New Testament, it became five ways through which God communicated with the human beings of old and also today. From that day Friday February 21, 1997 till today, God Almighty Who is the Lord Jesus Christ in the flesh and the Holy Spirit in spirit and the three are One has been speaking to me.

And He doesn't speak too long; His Voice is always distinct, laconic and off-pat and by the way; He introduces Himself as the Lord Jesus Christ.

Satan too also speaks to human beings on daily basis. But no demon can introduce himself as Lord Jesus Christ, for that is taking spiritual deception to the limits. At any rate, Satan will tear to pieces any demon that introduces himself to any human being in a vision as:

“Lord Jesus Christ and Your Maker.” Demons can masquerade as agents of light and introduce themselves as “Jesus,” but can never say “Jesus Christ,” and “Your Maker.” There is a difference between “Jesus” and “Jesus Christ.” The Lord that came to the earth as a member of His creation, born by the Virgin Mary and lived a sinless life for 33 years, was crucified for my sin and yours, died and resurrected three days later with power and authority in heaven, on earth and under the earth and now at the right hand side of the Most High God in heaven is NOT Jesus but JESUS CHRIST. This was the Name conceived by the Holy Spirit and that Christ means; “Immanuel” that is God with us” (Mathew 1: 23). When any spirit comes to you in a dream, vision, or trance and says he's Jesus, do not run with that name but ask; Which Jesus? Until he introduces himself as “Jesus Christ,” be very careful because; “… this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour (1 Peter 2: 18)

Anyway, I was eventually given the Large Print Bible NIV edition by one of the sentries and I began to devour the Greatest Book of the Lord. The Holy Spirit instructed me to stop my one-week hunger strike and braced up for the spiritual warfare He had called me for, but first, I must be prepared. One of the revelations that Jesus Christ showed me was how Death, which is a demon, operates on earth. It occurred this way; in the afternoon at about 3pm in Nigeria, six spirits entered into my underground Gulag. Leading them was a huge, enormously grotesque black tall spirit with a big club in his hands; foul and dirty, followed by deformed and smelly spirits. Three of the demons held guns in their hands. I knew this was not real physically but that afternoon, it was real in the spirit as I watched this evil scenario. I saw Jesus Christ at my back in white robe watching all that was going on. I couldn't hear the conversations of the six demonic spirits but I could hear the Lord's saying; the demon Death has come to take you but I am here to protect you, do not be afraid. That tall and dark spirit that appeared as the leader of the wild cats who our Lord Jesus Christ later told me was Death snapped his fingers at the two demons holding guns immediately and instantly fired volleys of bullets at me. As they continued to shoot at me, suddenly I saw my right hand raised up by itself but I knew it was the Lord Jesus Christ that enabled this to happen. Then words came out of my mouth, again without my efforts and I barked: “Stop, Stop, and Stop.” Then all of a sudden, the smelly and foul spirits abruptly skedaddled into the darkness and I was back to the real world. The whole of my underground cell was covered with smoke and smell of lead and gunpowder enveloped the ambience for about thirty minutes and again, without my efforts I shouted, “Be still” and the atmosphere was cleared of the smells. Then I couldn't see the Lord again but I felt His presence and then I began to ask the Lord Jesus Christ some questions. Remember when Our Lord Jesus Christ promised that; ““But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come, (John 16: 13). That is exactly true. When God speaks to any human being, which He does virtually all the time, yes, He speaks to all human beings, both believers and unbelievers; you can't understand what He says if you do not have the Holy Spirit. And you can't have the Holy Spirit if you do not accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, period. Any other voice that introduces himself to any human being who is NOT a born-again Christian is that of Satan, period. This is what the perishing world hates to hear. They say we born-again Christians are arrogant, pompous and full of ourselves because we say we are the chosen ones and we hold the truth. Unfortunately, things of the world also operate this way. For example, apart from Visa Lottery program, there is only one way a foreigner can come to this country. Any other way is a fake. Also, there is only one president any functioning nation can have at one time. Any nation or country that has two sovereignties is heading for a civil war. And there are other such examples. So if we human beings operate this way to maintain order in any functioning society, should we reason that the Lord God Almighty cannot and will never duplicate His Divine Sovereignty? If God Almighty is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient, if He is the HOLY ONE as the Great Alone, why will He create disorderliness by creating different pathways to Him? Does it make sense? Herein lies the Narrow Truth of the Gospel: “Jesus answered; 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No One comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14: 6). And that Only Way is God Almighty and He is the One who speaks to me and all human beings, but until you belong to Him and has His Holy Spirit, you can't hear Him.

Death is a high-ranking demon. It is not a state. It is not a condition. It is a real spirit being controlled by Satan. It is the last demon called by Satan to take out a soul when all is set for the soul to depart the world. Apostle Paul told us: “The last enemy to be destroyed is death (1 Corinthians 15: 26). How will death be destroyed? Paul explained thusy: “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory.” Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death is your sting?" (1 Corinthians 15: 51-55). The Lord Jesus Christ began to teach me how this demon-spirit operates. Among the Yoruba-speaking people of West Africa and other indigenous cultures understand that Death is a demon and treat him as such. For example, the Yoruba people have a dirge for Death as the Grim Reaper holding a club in his hands with other demons following him as associates. That was the scene I saw in my vision and the Lord Jesus Christ-you can see how I use Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit interchangeably here because they are one and the same with God the Father-began to teach me and explain the meaning of the vision. Death lives in the company of Sickness, Madness, Unconscious, Coma and Death is flanked by two high-ranking lieutenants: Destroyer and Desolate, or as the Lord Jesus Christ revealed to Apostle John in Revelation 9: 11: “They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.” It was from this Hebrew word: “Abaddon” that the English word; “abandon” has its etymology in 1822 in Europe which means: “to be left alone, deserted or left or given over to another person to be controlled.” That is exactly what will happen to all Christ rejecters as our Lord Jesus Christ explained in His Parable of the Sower in Mathew 13: 3-9.

When our First Parents; Adam and Eve fell from God's grace in the Garden of Eden on account of their disobedience, their souls died to God. They had their spirits intact but the soul became intransigent and declares its independence from the Lord God Almighty. Hitherto, their spirits controlled them –not the Holy Spirit here-because their spirits submitted to the Lord and through their spirits they could use their souls to hear and commune with God. The way God intended and still intends is that the spirit controls the soul while the body-physical body-follows. The spiritual arrangement follows this principle: God Almighty speaks to the Intuitive part of the human spirit and that part sends the message to the human heart which is in the soul and the soul understands it intuitively. Wherever the soul goes so the human body follows automatically as Apostle Paul dialectically explained in the Book of Romans 7, 8 and 9. We have explained all these spiritual dynamics in previous discourses in this column and we need not repeat them here. What Satan did to Adam and Eve and by extension to their offspring-you and I- was to displace this arrangement; the soul first instead of the spirit and the result was the displacement of the human spirit as the seat of decision. Our Lord Jesus Christ defeated Satan when the devil tried to use the same trick on the Lord as Satan did in the Garden of Eden: “And the devil said unto him,” If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying; “It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God,” (Luke 4: 3-4). This is how the Lord God and Satan operate; while God works in us from the inside out, the modus operandi of Stan is to work from the outside in. It's very easy for any spiritual man/woman, who has the Holy Spirit to know how the Lord God Almighty operates and Satan. It's always and it's all the time that Satan appeals to our physical human needs concentrated on the human senses of vision, hearings, smell, eat, touch, feelings and sex. God operates exactly the opposite. Apostle Paul elucidated on these spiritual dynamics in Galatians. “So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.” (Galatians 5: 15-17). He then proceeded to list those things that are of the flesh or human nature and those that are of the spirit and all are dialectically oppositional-juxtaposed.

The fall of the human race as result of Adam and Eve disobedience made them to fall prey to Satan and he proceeded to keep them in a warehouse locked up and unable to get out of his firm grips. That warehouse is called hell or Abyss and the warehouse manager is Death. All human beings from the time of Adam were abandoned at this warehouse guarded by the warehouse manager –Death-until our Lord Jesus Christ came and freed them. Hallelujah! This was the leitmotiv of Apostle Paul's exegesis in the Book of Romans as the Christian's apologetics which he stated thusy through the Holy Spirit: “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned - for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.” (Romans 5: 12-17). This is the fulcrum of the Christian Gospel-the Good News. No human being can and will make it to heaven without proper understanding of this narrow truth, but nonetheless eternal truth to salvation that leads to eternal life.

You see, when Death came to that underground Gulag with his demons to take me out, he and his associates didn't have the moral and legal rights to take me to the Abyss, because I had given my life to Jesus Christ and so He showed up to stop Death, the factotum of Satan. Physical death segues to heaven a Christ-believer, but on the other hand, the same physical death leads Christ-rejecters to Hell and to the second death. Both are in eternity but on different eternal divides.

WORLD PROPHECY:
This is huge! Something of global importance, an earth-shattering event and a cosmic occurrence is in the offing in the world. I don't know what it is but the Holy Bible has predicted it and we shall all see it with our very eyes soon. This event is part of end-time prophecy and it's about to take place very, very soon in the next 12 to 24 months. I don't know what it is; I repeat again, I wasn't shown what it is but again, it's HUGE. The whole world will be shocked; from the rising of the sun to the setting of the sun; from the East to the West; from the South to the North, the planet earth is about to witness a catastrophic event. The Divine Hand of God Almighty, the Creator of the heavens and the universe, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is about to intervene in the affairs of humanity. The world media, the commentariat, the scientists, the astrologers, the men and women of earthly wisdom and their ilk will be talking their heads out but will not be able to explain but those who know the True God will be unshaken and unperturbed. What is it? I wasn't shown but was only told (Luke 21:11 & 25).

ISSUES OF THE WEEK:
The Lone President Who is Forlornly Alone: President Goodluck Jonathan is indeed lucky in a nation where luck is in short supply. But as lucky and fortunate he's, he must be lonely indeed, just like other fortunate individuals in his position, including President Barack Obama here in the United States. Why are the few men and women at the top often lonely? Because there are few rooms at the top and the many at the bottom rungs of life see those few at the top as much more fortunate than the rest of the multitude. Truth is, the many at the bottom hate the few at the top and that is why the few at the top erect all kinds of barriers and protective shields around themselves. But the few at the top are only fortunate within a time space; during their fleeting moments in public life which often disappear at an astonishing speed once they are out of the public glare. Gen. Obasanjo was literally smuggled into Washington, DC in 2000 when he came to collect money from his mentor, the late Mr. Robert McNamara which he took back to Nigeria to contest the 2000 Presidential Election. I ran into Mr. Sunday Adewusi, former Nigeria's Police Boss during Shehu Shagari era (1979-1983) in Maryland one of these days and a go-to-guy in a sensitive American office was pointing at him to me and I nodded. I saw Navy Captain Rasheed Raji, former military administrator of Bauchi and Sokoto States in Nigeria during the Abacha Era in Tampa, Florida buying African food in an ethnic grocery store and shook my head. Former military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida changed planes, his attires and hotels more than five times the last time he sneaked into the US to see his expired wife. Public office can be humbling when you are out. Many of the big guys that wield big sticks in Nigeria become nobodies once they sneak in here.

Here in the United States, no matter how brilliant, beloved and loving you are as our president, you're out of dodge after eight years, period. Of course with the exception of FDR during the Great Depression and the kerfuffle of WWII, this gave him 12 years (1933-1945) as president, the first and the last in American history. Presidents and public office holders, who know the ephemerals of public office and the fleeting nature of its trappings un-cocoon themselves with old classmates, former friends and brutally-frank buddies to keep them in focus, and that is why half of President Obama's inner circle and “brain trusters” are from here in Chicago. This is different from prebendal politics, because trust is a desideratum in politics. No one can have your back more than your old classmates, loyal family members and those you grew up with in life. You will only pass through this place once, so when you rely on those whose stock-in-trade is using people to get what they want, these are only insider-pretenders who have only permanent interests and no permanent friends. They are political jobbers who are in it for their pockets, period. President Jonathan has abandoned his kinsmen and women, many of his family members are complaining and he will soon find out he's in the bubble and 4 years or 8 years will pass him by. In America here, only the politician who brings the bacon home is eulogized. “Pork barrel politics” is alive and well in presidential politics through appropriations. There are certain benefits that come with having a hometown boy as president, even here in America. Half of the “kitchen cabinet” of President George W. Bush for eight years (2000-2008) came with him to Washington from Texas. At the height of the housing bust in 2008 as Obama came into the Oval Office, he and Sen. Dick Durbin worked a special package for us Chicagoans to save our homes. His two chiefs of staff; Rahm Emmanuel and Daley are from here in Chicago. His education secretary, Arne Duncan is a Chicago boy. Shortly after Obama became president in 2008, the African-American community called the First Lady and held a closed-door meeting with her and she got the message. President John F. Kennedy made his brother the attorney-general. President Obasanjo surrounded himself with his Abeokuta Grammar School Old Boys: Sunday Afolabi, Tunji Oseni and his Ogun Boys and Girls: Gbolade Osinowo, Doyin Okupe, Titi Ajanaku and the rest. Then he festooned the list with his retired army boys: Muhammad, Ahmadu Ali, Theophilus Danjuma and co. Till today, every Ikenne son and daughter buys cement at controlled price to enable them build their own house in the ancestral home of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. If Jonathan is playing a nationalist, he will sooner find out how fleeting the office of presidency is. The young man he told in Brass to go get education when Jonathan was governor is now a PhD holder but jobless. All the young men and women that rejoiced at the prospect of their own as Nigeria's president in 2010 are lamenting now. Jonathan has done nothing for Nigeria, he has done nothing for Bayelsa, he has done nothing for Ijaw nation and Jonathan has done nothing to Otuoke in Bayelsa State. This is sad. He will soon find out all the Mr. Fixes of the world, who cannot even deliver their home villages are really there to use him, because without stealing pubic money, these old-rugged killers cannot, survive. Government largesse is their sustenance and they live by, on and for it.

The First Lady, Patience Jonathan is so impatient she seems to be buying up every available space in Bayelsa making a sane person to wonder what do these people need all these acquisitions for? Any public office holder in Nigeria who fails to learn from the tragic deaths of Sani Abacha in 1998 and Umaru Yar'Adua in 2007 would never learn anything in life. You ask yourself: What is life all about after all? When you have $1billion in your personal account, mostly stolen as the case with Sani Abacha, it would take you almost 150 years to finish it if you spend N1million a day, yet Abacha stole more than $5billion from the Nigerian people and where is he today? Do well, make life easier for your people and deliver on your promises within available resources, pursue justice, help the poor, the fatherless, the widows, make life easier for your country men and women during your time and let the citizens say of you: “ Oh, he gave his best to the people.” Most Nigerian public office-holders are stupid. Many of them will be made to account for all the billions and billions of public money they are stealing by God Almighty. Going to Holy Ghost service for television show and consulting with demonic agents at night to retain power are not at the back of the Lord God Almighty. Pursuing political enemies, making life difficult for your critics and hounding all perceived enemies are not the hallmarks of responsive, responsible and God-fearing administration as Nigerian leaders pretend in public. Sani Abacha did it and where is he today? Those who worked in cahoots with him and continue to run Nigeria aground are far way too gone to be redeemed because as the Bible says; “For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil (Ecclesiastes 12: 14).
