Imo to Host UN's Pageant Delegates Representing Nigeria

Aims at offering all young people the opportunity to come together in a pageant setting regardless of their background, through the building of relationships with other men and women who are working diligently to leave a positive impact in their communities, United Nations pageants with its President, Leon Williams has kicked-off voting for this year's search.

The event which is the world's finals of the United Nations Pageants would be holding in Cancun, Mexico by July 1 – 7th, 2013 with delegates arriving at the end of this month.

This year's search which has seven female and three male Nigerian models, namely: Sharon Nneka Nmezi (Imo, Miss UNITY Nigeria 2011-2013; delegate for Miss Africa UN 2013), Chioma Lynda Onwuka (Anambra, Queen Culture Nigeria 2012; delegate for Miss Africa UN 2013), Juliet Chisom Ubadike (Anambra, Miss Agulu 2013; delegate for Miss Teen Africa UN 2013), Makbere Usinzibe Marian (Bayelsa, Miss Tourism Nigeria 2012; delegate for Miss Teen UN 2013), Steiner Eunice Opara (Imo, African Queen 2009; delegate for Mrs UN 2013), Okunbiri Emilia Miebi (Bayelsa, Driims Ambassador; delegate for Miss Teen UN 2013), Bello Sodiq Olawale (Lagos, Mr. Ideal Nigeria 2010; delegate for Mr. UN 2013), Ivy Uzoamaka Egemba (Imo, Face of Nigeria 2012/Power Horse Ambassador; delegate for Face of UN Pageants 2013), Kenneth Chukwu (Imo, Nollywood Actor; delegate for UN Pageants Ambassador 2013), Umeh Elfreda Sharon (Bayelsa, Driims Ambassador; delegate for UN Runway Contest 2013) and Ojo Ganiu Adewale (Ogun, Mr. Teen Nigeria 2012; delegate for Mr. Teen UN 2013) would be holding in Mexico, where other contenders all over the world would be converging.

In a related development, last weekend the Bayelsa State government officially unveiled and crowned the delegates from the state at De Rich Park Hotel, Ompadec Road, Yenagoa; even as the event attracted top movie and musical stars in Nigeria.

Also, the Imo State government on this prominence agreed to host the official unveiling of all the delegates representing Nigeria at the UN Pageants 2013 in Mexico, and the event is scheduled to hold on the 22 -23rd June, 2013 at the prestigious Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri.

Speaking at the official unveil/coronation of the delegates from Bayelsa State, the National Director and Representative, Jahn Eze, stated that the United Nations Pageants has been conceptualized as a prestigious international event, bringing together representatives of a wide range of communities and cultures from all over the Globe; from the world's most culturally diverse state, “our delegates aim to share common values and foster international friendship and understanding”.

Expectedly, as the United Nations Pageants delegates come together in Cancun, Mexico to share their community volunteer projects, ideas and goals with each other, Jahn added that they would become unified as pageant brothers and sisters in the United Nation Pageants Family.

Also, the Africa Director, United Nations Pageants, Zelly MIGHTY stressed that the sister and brotherhood would strengthen them to see beyond their immediate surroundings and situations, and extend their service across the globe. Even as each delegate shares ideas of how he or she serves their various communities, he said they would meet to strengthen and edify themselves because their paths would also be crossed.
