AMBASSADOR AKANBI WOOS DUTCH INVESTORS TO NIGERIA

Nigeria Ambassador to the Netherlands, Ambassador Dr. Mrs. Nimota Nihinlola Akanbi (OON) has declared that Nigeria still offers an enabling environment for Dutch businesses particularly those Dutch businesses and investors who wish to invest in Nigeria. Addressing members of the planning committee of the forthcoming Nigeria-Nederland Business and Investment forum for Governors and Entrepreneurs in her office, she disclosed the willingness of Nigerian government to open its doors wider for serious Dutch investors to come and invest in Nigeria for mutual benefit of both countries.
This business forum is slated for 4th to 7th June 2013 at the World Forum, Churchillplein, Den Haag, The Netherlands.
Ambassador Akanbi confirmed to this journalist that at least six State Governors from Nigeria had signed up to attend the business forum in person, among those expected includes Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, Governor Engineer Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola of Osun State, Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, Governor Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto State, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and Governor Mallam Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State. Also two federal ministers had indicated their participation at the business forum; Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga and Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe, Hon. Minister of Water Resources. The various chambers of commerce in Nigeria, manufacturers Association of Nigeria and Corporate Affairs commission are sending to the forum high power business delegations who are interested in meeting Dutch investors during this business forum.
The Ambassador also disclosed that the committee is working hand in hand with the Embassy of Nigeria in the Netherlands and the collaborating bodies which includes the Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC) and the Lagos-based Nigerian-Netherlands Chambers of Commerce (NNCC) to make the forum a huge success.
