ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNOR, ADMIRAL MURTALA NYAKO (RTD)

SAN FRANCISCO, May 06, (THEWILL) – Adamawa State governor, Admiral Murtala Nyako (rtd), has pleaded with members of the Boko Haram sect to embrace the amnesty being proposed for them by the Federal Government.

Nyako, who made the appeal on Monday in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, when he came to donate N20 million to the victims of Baga killing, said he was happy that Boko Haram listened to the voice of wisdom in releasing the elder statesman, Dr. Ali Shettima Monguno, who was abducted last Friday.

Nyako, who said more pleasing was the fact that Monguno’s release coincided with his visit to the state, also pleaded with Boko Haram to drop their arms and embrace dialogue and reconciliation.

The Yobe governor maintained that the North and the entire country is waiting on members of the sect to take up the amnesty as being presented by the Federal Government.
