How Principalities Became Idols and Why They Are Attractive To Serve?
The second level of fallen angels that were sent packing out of the heavens, aftermath of Satan's rebellions found it difficult after the Deluge to interfere in the affairs of human beings. Following God's resolve to destroy the whole world, only Noah, his wife, their three sons and wives remained on the earth. God Almighty was beginning afresh, so to say and He proceeded to enter into a Covenant with Noah (Genesis 9: 1-17). The terms of the Covenant covered the whole human race and from these the three sons of Noah: Shem, Ham and Japheth (Genesis 9: 18) the whole earth was re-populated. Somehow, Satan and his rebellious spirits devised a way to penetrate the impregnable fortress that Noah and his family of eight enjoyed in post-Deluge Era. But unfortunately, Noah's children opened the Satanic door way through which principalities established their presence in the affairs of human beings. Like their First Parents, Adam and Eve who disobeyed God and listened to Satan, Ham, the weakest link among the trios misbehaved and incurred the curse of his father, Noah (Genesis 9: 34-27). A curse is a prophetic utterance from someone in a higher spiritual order, or has the right or is legitimately wronged or offended, and calls or summons spiritual agents to act on the person's behalf to punish, inflict pains on the perpetrators of the injustice, or visit evil on the subordinate. The spirit world, both the Light and Dark aisles are in hierarchical orders. The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are co-equally at the top of the Deistic Totem. This is followed by the 24 Elders etc. (We will explore deeper on this in our next series after the current series on Satanic Kingdom). Even in the affairs of humans, these hierarchical orders subsist: Father is co-equal with Mother followed by children in order of First Son down to the Last Born (Numbers 18: 15; Deuteronomy 21: 17).
Satan and his fallen angels have been around for eons and have lived in heavens with their Maker for ages before they rebelled and knew how God Almighty operates. They understood the law of order and hierarchy and constantly employ this advantage in the affairs of human beings to the detriment of ignorant souls. That is why we see a lot of human beings suffering unnecessarily in the world today and such innocent victims begin to wonder why they are suffering and peremptorily conclude that God Almighty hates, ignores, abandons or just doesn't care about their plights. When a person, a group of people acting as associates, a family, a community, a clan, village, town, city or country fulfills the conditions for Satan and his demons to act, no matter the hardships and malevolent activities that result from the Satanic consequences, God Almighty cannot intervene. It is not because God is incapacitated but His sense of justice and orderliness precludes Him. It doesn't matter how much tears, whining, anguishes and frustrations that such consequences on innocent victims, knowledge must be sought to deal first with the fundamental causes of the acts before any reprieve. On the other hand, if the minimum requirements of God Almighty are met by a person, a group of people acting as associates, a family, a community, a clan, village, town, city or country, the blessings of God Almighty too will also flow and Satan is powerless to stop such blessings. While individuals will be held ultimately for their individual actions, nevertheless, God Almighty will never withhold His blessings from an individual in a corporate covenant. This is what Our Lord Jesus Christ meant when He told the Jews, and by extension, you and me in Mathew 5: 44 & 45 “But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
That is how God has set up the system. You see, in both spiritual and human histories, to God, everything is a continuum. He is the One making history. For example, other nations of the world wonder why the United States of America is such a good place and the most powerful and wealthiest nation on earth, in spite of the evils going on here. How can God Almighty be so generous to a people, most of whom don't even worship Him? It's not because Americans are special, work harder than the rest humans on earth or necessarily more brilliant or ingenious, but because of the covenant that the Founding Fathers of this great nation had with the True God Almighty over 300 years ago. Although these blessings will not last forever, if the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren of the Founding Fathers refuse to toe the paths of their forbears as God said: “… I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand [generations] of those who love me and keep my commandments,” (Exodus 20: 5b & 6). As blessings pass from generations to generations so also curses (Joshua 6: 26). For examples, you wonder why you and I should be held responsible for the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden when you and I were not even born. Well, that is why God Almighty answered that question for you and me to also say; But why should the obedience of Jesus Christ, Death, Crucifixion and Resurrection be credited to us when you and I were not even born two thousand years ago? Get the point?
Immediately after the Deluge, the human race had another opportunity to start afresh and get it right but Noah forfeited another opportunity. By proclaiming a curse on Ham, his second son who uncovered his nakedness, Satan moved in quickly and sent his principalities to begin to work on the human race. Their artifices were three-fold: turn the children of Ham to their vassalage which they achieved by dividing the land of Canaan among themselves as gods, which Ham's descendants began to worship. Second, put machinery in place to counter God's plan of redemption as He earlier pronounced in Genesis 3: 15, and finally, make the whole earth insensitive to God and everything that is Godly. God could not have stopped Noah from proclaiming a curse of Ham and so God had to pick Shem but left out of Japheth in order to prepare a nation through which He would come down to the earth physically in Our Lord Jesus Christ to save His children. Make no mistake about it; the Bible is not about the history of the world, otherwise, you would have seen the history of your family, town and city in the book. Neither is the Holy Bible a book of Do's and Don'ts but of Decision. That was why immediately after Genesis 10; we read no more about the Canaanites but the history of God Almighty and his plan to save the human race shifted to one man: Abraham and how God systematically prepared the Way for human redemption. Consequently, the Bible can be summed up in an overarching leitmotiv: “The fall of the human race through the disobedience of Adam and Eve which led to the loss of Paradise, and how Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ restored the Lost Paradise to the human race through His obedience, Crucifixion, Death and Resurrection.”
Apostle Paul's dialectical analysis in the Book of Romans elucidated and explicated more on this recurring motif in Pauline exegeses. “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, (Adam added mine) and death through sin and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned…For if, by the trespass of the one man (Adam added mine) death reigned through that one man (Adam added mine), how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5: 12; 17). In other words, vicarious sin leaves all human beings incapacitated because of the foolishness and disobedience of our First Parents; Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. But in God's eternal wisdom, every human being on earth is given a choice to accept by faith the obedience of Jesus Christ, who, though being God became Man, to undo what Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden. Simply translated; God Almighty does not want human input in His plan of making any of us right before Him. This then has nothing to do with religion, being good, moral or performing rituals or scratching of head, but simply by faith which God Almighty has put in the earth of every human being to exercise. Therefore, it is not because every human being on earth cannot give their lives to Our Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, but because they do not want to give their lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, period. We have plenty to say on these and more in this column in the weeks and years ahead.
HOW PRINCIPALITIES MADE HUMANS TO TURN THEM INTO GODS:
The curse that Noah pronounced on Ham, his second son afforded the fallen angels to interfere in the affairs of human beings. As soon as the Lord God Almighty dispersed the human race out of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11: 9), the fallen angels followed. That is why there are certain commonalities among all the false idols around the world; from the Canaanites, the Babylonians to the Greco-Roman world and our contemporary world. For example, the marine worship in Africa is the same demon-god that the Hindus worship in the River Ganges in India, the Madi Gras idol worship in New Orleans is the same principality being worshipped in Sinaloa, Mexico, Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Quebec City, Canada, Mazatlan, Mexico Barranquilla, Colombia, and other topoi. The same idol that manifests itself to the Voodoo worshippers in Benin Republic is the same demon-god exported to Haiti and the animistic séances being practiced in Black Africa are the same being worshipped in southern Florida, Cuba and Latin America as Santeria by African natives. Even Santa Claus, which some have brought into Christmas is the same demon-worship around the world.
These principalities, euphemistically called idols haven't changed; they are the same creatures opposing the plans of the Lord God Almighty on earth and leading many souls astray to damnation and hell. They fanned out across the large swath of land known as Canaan Land and intimidated the people to worship them as gods and goddesses. The Holy Bible gave the names of these false gods/goddesses; from Dagon, the principality of the Philistines (I Samuel 5: 1-12); Asthoretth, the principality of the Sidonians (2 Kings 23: 13); Chemosh, the god of Moab ( I Kings 11: 13); Milcom, the principality of the Ammonites ( I Kings 11: 5); Molech, the god of Ammon ( I Kings 11: 7); Topheth, the god of Hinnom ( Jeremiah 7: 31); Baal-zebub, the god of the Ekronites ( 2 Kings 1: 2); Baal, the chief principality of Samaria (2 Chronicles 23: 17); Ashera, the twin-gods of Samaria brought to Israel by Jezebel, in her capacity as the princess of Ethbaal, king of Sidon and the wife of Ahab, king of Samaria, Northern Israel (I Kings 18:19). Space will not permit us to continue with the principalities of the native lands of Canaan, from Egypt where the Almighty God disgraced their gods: Iris, Ra, Osiris etc. with the plagues; Baal Beor of the Aramites, (2 Peter 2: 15; Revelation 2: 14); Queen of heaven, the principality of fertility that the women of Israel copied from the Canaanites (Jeremiah 7: 18); Nisroch, the god of Assyria (Isaiah 37: 38) and many more.
They attacked the three human needs of food, clothing and shelter of the aboriginal natives and arm-twisted them that if they paid obeisance to them, their farm produces would be protected, personal safety assured and sleeting sensual needs would be met. That was why Our Lord Jesus Christ warned in Mathew 6: 31 & 32: “So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Simply because someone has abundance of food, clothing and shelter doesn't mean they come from God's blessing. Satan, principalities and demons know overwhelming majority of humans devote entire lifetimes on these material pursuits and so they cash in on them. They demand for human sacrifices as, infanticides and slaying of children as fertility and foundational rites. By pushing earthly rulers to introduce classes into the society; in addition to spiritual powers, the idols chose the upper classes and turned them into spiritual honchos with hidden talents. Using the success of their leader, Satan over Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they told these spiritual guides they could have hidden powers to equip them to lord it over others. That is why all the attractions to idol worshiping today can be located in three domains: over-ambition, independence and quest for power and wisdom. Satan and his rebellious spirits have been studying human beings for many thousands of years, and borrowing from the three templates Satan used against Adam and Eve and succeeded, they haven't changed their modus operandi. The craving of the flesh, the pride of life and the deceptions of the eyes have been the artifices of Satan and his rebellious spirits on Adam and Eve and the three tricks on their children seem to be working. Why change your tricks when they have been working for decades?
James described this human conundrum which Satan and his fallen spirits continue to exploit this way “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” (James 3: 13-16). Just look around you in the world today; why do people go to herbalists, consult witches and wizards, seek out the psychics and mediums, read the horoscope, rely on voodoo, Tonga men and women, desire to have their Ouija Board, participate in séances, astral projections and all those Satanic rites and practices condemned by the Lord God Almighty? They want money, political powers, searching for knowledge, want to be famous, want to dominate others, oppress, and acquire material things, want to boast etc. yet no one would take any of these things out of this world. Isn't it funny how limited and ignorant the human wisdom is? Satan and his fallen spirits have detected these flaws in human beings thousands of years ago and even when we pretend to go to church services, be shown on television and project outward appearance, Satan and his demons crack up because, they can see us through and through.
But here is how James described the wisdom from the Great Source-the Lord God Almighty: “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness (James 3: 17 & 18). If those seven qualities listed by James above are absent in your Christian life-not just your life-then you have an idol and are an idol worshipper, period. For every element and fruits that countervail those seven fruits are principalities using them to lure humans, either ignorantly or deliberately, from serving and obeying the Lord God Almighty.
WHAT IS SO ATTRACTIVE ABOUT PRINCIPALITIES AND SPIRITUAL IDOLS?
During my years in spiritual ignorance in Nigeria, I visited one Voodoo man in the city of Ibadan, western Nigeria. He was a Muslim, one Alhaji Ganiyu Salami and asked him why he so much belief in the efficacy of Satanic power. He had performed pilgrimage to Mecca as a Mohammedan and so I was shocked when he declared matter-of-factly: “Moshood, I am a worshiper of Satan.” He said it in Yoruba Language this way; “Esu niwon sin lagbole wa nihin,” literally “Satan is our god here in our family/clan.” Or the late Alhaji Abdulazeez Ajagbemokeferi of Ibadan, who, though a Muslim told me he had powers to send demons on errand to go and steal some bank papers. He was boasting in his palatial mansion on Old Ife-Ibadan Road with his pictures with former Nigerian military dictator, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, the late MKO Abiola and other important personalities in Nigeria. Or my encounter with one Pastor Dagunro of a white garment church at Fagba Bus Stop, Ifako-Agege who is a Satanist while running a church supposedly to deliver people when he kept a coffin inside his bedroom.
(I have numerous of such examples of actual names of people I encountered way back in Africa and actual places I have visited in Africa and here in the United States on Satanic activities in my two books: “The Kingdom of Satan Exposed: Activities of Principalities and Demon Worship In Our World Today,” and ““Tales from Canaan Land: African Stories of Witchcraft, Voodoo, Séances, Human Sacrifices, Satanic Initiations, Demon worship, Animistic Justice and Christian Deliverance” which are forthcoming). The powers that principalities promise their worshippers are miniscule compared with the powers of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, human beings crave these powers to dominate others and so that is the first attraction to principalities.
You are not held to high standards. Because principalities are creatures of disobedience, they give human beings freedom with the impression that no one will be held accountable therefore, anything goes. They beguile human beings with false salvation and deceive their followers that God Almighty is just bluffing, He won't send anybody to hell because He is a Good and Loving God. Or if that doesn't jibe with common sense, they inflate your ego and say, you too are a god on your own and there is nothing like absolute truth. We are all part of the cosmos, including the aliens-another new-fangled epithet now among the scientific community for demons and principalities. They inflate your ego further that, you are wise and knowledgeable and why do you have to be told, directed and be dictated to by any God you do not see. They stoke the human egos further and tell you; Aren't you too knowledgeable, well-read, intellectually urbane and too sophisticated to believe all those stories in the Bible? That is why millions are perishing in hell today, because by the time they find themselves in that horrible place, it will be too late.
Human beings are also sucked in by the short-cut offered by fallen spirits. Yes, they have some residual powers they still control and can use to ameliorate elementary problems such as poverty, diseases, easy gratifications and fleeting successes in life. They can even arrange situations and circumstances in some people's lives to guarantee good careers and since Satan and these foul spirits have studied human beings for a very long time, they know once we have food, clothing and shelter, we hardly bother about our eternal destination. In fact, this is the root of all the prosperity preaching and false miracles around the world today and last week, remember we wrote about the False Prophet and the Beast mimicking the Holy Trinity with Satan. This was why the women of Israel ran into trouble with God Almighty when He told them to stop worshipping the Queen of Heaven-an idol masquerading as God Almighty. Hear the reply of the women of Israel to God Almighty: “We will certainly do everything we said we would: We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our fathers, our kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and suffered no harm,” (Jeremiah 44: 17). Didn't these Israeli women sound like many of today's human beings, including lamentably, some who say they are Christian?
Finally, these principalities appeal to our sensual pleasures. Sex is the most potent weapon of false gods and goddesses and no wonder Satan deliberately chose a high-ranking demon-god; Jezebel to head this department. Our Lord Jesus Christ specifically singled out this principality for condemnation in Revelation 2: 20 “Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.” This idol gave his name to the first daughter of Ethbaal, the king of Sidon (I Kings 16: 31), whose father was made king by another principality, Baal. When King Ahab went to marry this princess against God's command, the demon-god Jezebel gave her the name as her god-mother to go to Israel and carry out some Satanic assignments. Some of the most aggressive and malevolent demon-gods I have ever seen are sex-related: fornication, adultery, anal, oral, incest, masturbation, sodomy, male and female prostitutions, harlotry, rape, etc. Leviticus 18 and 21 gave a bunch of sex-related acts condemned by God Almighty and infraction of any of them confirms idolatry and false demon-worship.
TRIUMPH OVER PRINCIPALITIES:
Without confessing all your misbehaviors and disobedience to God Almighty through pleading the Name and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no way one can overcome these fiendish spiritual enemies. Religion will not do, because they are behind some of the religious movements in the world today so it's like double whammy. You see, Satan and his fallen angels do not teach human beings to be atheists, because they want to be gods and goddesses: to be obeyed, praised and worshipped as well. They are not stupid, they know it would be herculean for them to out rightly deny the existence of God Almighty (Romans 1: 20).They believe there is a Supreme Being (James 2:19) but the agenda they are ferociously pursuing is to teach human beings to believe something like this; “Oh yes, there is God Almighty, but we are also part of the God Almighty and His emissaries and intermediaries between humans and God Almighty here on earth.” This is why there is always a semblance of the True God Almighty in every religion or spiritual movement on earth today.
But here is the catch: Satan and his false gods and goddesses teach humans not to obey, submit and do the will of that Lord God Almighty, the Supreme Being. It is possible to believe in God Almighty but not obey and worship Him and do His Will, which is tantamount to not respecting Him. This is why Satan and his fallen angels will single out those who called themselves atheists here on earth for special harassment and intense torture in hell fire, because not only did they deny the existence of a Supreme Being, they also denied the existence of Satan as well.

WORLD PROPHECY: This is huge! Something of global importance, an earth-shattering event and a cosmic occurrence is in the offing in the world. I don't know what it is but the Holy Bible has predicted it and we shall all see it with our very eyes soon. This event is part of end-time prophecy and it's about to take place very, very soon in the next 12 to 24 months. I don't know what it is; I repeat again, I wasn't shown what it is but again, it's HUGE. The whole world will be shocked; from the rising of the sun to the setting of the sun; from the East to the West; from the South to the North, the planet earth is about to witness a catastrophic event. The Divine Hand of God Almighty, the Creator of the heavens and the universe, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is about to intervene in the affairs of humanity. The world media, the commentariat, the scientists, the astrologers, the men and women of earthly wisdom and their ilk will be talking their heads out but will not be able to explain but those who know the True God will be unshaken and unperturbed. What is it? I wasn't shown but was only told (Luke 21:11 & 25).
ISSUES OF THE WEEK:
Yours sincerely added another 365 days last week to my temporary sojourn on earth. On Saturday March 16, 2013 or as my wife normally refers to it 3:16 like John 3: 16: “For God so loved…” To those who know me intimately, I have aversion toward birthdays, not on religious ground but just on a personal note. To me, there is nothing fantastic about the day a human being is born but the day I became a born-again child of the True God is dearer to my heart than my natural birth day. As usual, my wife literally compelled me to do something on Saturday and so a small bash was thrown at our favorite restaurant and we marked the day quietly.
I have asked the Lord if I would make the Biblical 70 according to Moses and the Lord God said that was Moses that pegged it at 70 years and so I asked Father to grant me the Grace to leave the earth in 2062. If my Lord Savior Jesus Christ tarries, and as long as I am doing what He asked me to do, the Lord God says I can stay around till 2062 for which I am grateful.

I am stepping down this week's letters to present some birthday wishes that I received as I clocked another milestone last Saturday March 16, 2013. I don't usually do this, even when I owned a magazine and my column in the 1990s way back in Lagos, Nigeria but some of these birthday wishes have certain spiritual significance, since most of the writers are friends and acquaintances. I published this birthday wishes from my friend Uhuegbu in London because of how he addressed me. It is an anathema for a born again Christian to be a chief. I am already a prince just as I told a traditional ruler in Nigeria few years ago who wanted to make me a chief. That was an insult and a demotion.
