THE MAN FROM OTUOKE

PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN
PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN

The recent revelation by some People Democratic Party stalwarts about a single term agreement reached with President Goodluck Jonathan, generated some hullabaloo. An indication of internal struggle for PDP sole ticket for 2015 election. The pact claimed to have been signed by the President was denied by the presidency and further evidence supporting such claim as never been made public. Judging from the aroma coming from the Aso Rock, GEJ is more than ready to swipe such agreement, if ever exit under carpet.

Famous for his shoe-less campaign and numerous endorsement from the alter of great men of God, Which contributed significantly to his victory in 2011 election. Even though, with about two years to go, the Man from Otuoke is already digging deep to ensure his return to office come 2015. Call it PDP doctrine, you might be right, once elected, the campaign for the next election begins.

The man from Otuoke, could appear to be slow and not too articulate, but you cannot really underestimate his calculation and tactics in handling the forces that might want to eke out the sole PDP ticket away from him. The ongoing fury between him and his predecessor (OBJ), the man that pave way for his presidency shows how determine he is in challenging, if possible crushing every internal forces that stand against him. Apparently, the recent shape up in the PDP executive cabinet was mainly targeted at loyalist of Owu man. An effort to emasculate and to send the Junker man into a state of oblivion. To cap it all, Tony Anenih has finally been announced has a PDP chairman board of trustees. The two have also traded words with each other on the media over the issue of governance.

Another force which is currently taken care of now is Rotimi Amechi (River State Governor). Rumour as it that , Lamido-Amechi are nurturing ambition for 2015. To curtail Rotimi excesses and his influence as Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum, at meeting held on Sunday (24th) of Febuary, PDP created their own Governors Forum, with Governor Goodwill Akpabio as the the Chairman, a known ally of the President and a strong voice in South South. A forum oriented to draw away PDP governors from the larger governor's forum under Amechi. Kudos to Bamanga Tukur for his great politicking and fervent love for our amiable president. Akpabio, in his address has assured Mr President of the outright cleansing of traitors in the party and that every Judases will be exposed. With the EFCC, puppet of every seating government, Amechi might have reached his limit.

The government mouthpiece, Labara Maku (Information Minister) is on good governance tour to all the states of the federation, awareness strategies which tend to promote the image of Mr. GEJ. This campaign as received heavy criticism from some notable Nigerians. Edo State governor and professor emeritus, Wole Soyinka, bear their mind on the tour as devoid of logic.

While many Nigerians are still waiting for him to fulfil his election campaign promises, the president has fast forward his priority to the 2015 election, what a president. On what ground can he base his second coming upon? Is it a high level of corruption and impunity that pervaded the land or his failure to address the security issues in the country. Iran is now using our country to train terrorist and to unleash hell on some western countries, they're sited our President without any strong warning to the Tehran, not to talk about how he deceived millions of Nigerians about the whereabouts of his wife for two months. However, he has been credited for his stand for refusing to grant amnesty to Boko Harem sect. But more can still be achieved, Nigerians can still vote him overwhelmingly if he can right the wrong and put the country in the right direction.
