KADCCIMA Lauds Airtel for Aggressive Market Coverage

Lagos, Nigeria; March 04, 2013:Leading telecommunications operator, Airtel Nigeria has been commended for its aggressive network expansion campaign which has ensured a seamless coverage of every nook and cranny of the country, especially the Northern parts of the country in spite of numerous operational challenges.

Speaking at a Special Day exclusively designated to Airtel at the on-going 34th Kaduna International Trade Fair, the President of Kaduna Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture, Dr. Alimi Bello, observed that within its short period of existence in Nigeria, Airtel has demonstrated the resilience and flexibility of a true market leader.

Dr. Bello who was represented at the occasion by Alhaji Ahmed Isah, a Council Member of the Chamber, observed that Airtel has demonstrated its commitment to provide a remarkable customer experience with best-in-class telecoms technologydespite the operational challenges experienced in the region and Kaduna State in particular.

He further stated that Airtel Nigeria's participation at the ongoing Kaduna international Trade Fair equally demonstrates the operator's passion for the development of the Nigerian economy, assuring that KADCCIMA would continue to work together with Airtel to build capacity in various areas that would boost business growth and enhance returns on investments especially for entrepreneurs in the north region of the country.

In his response, Mr. Olufemi Oyewole, Regional Operating Director (ROD), North, Airtel Nigeria commended KADCCIMA for raising the standard of the fair a notch higher than the previous year.

Mr. Oyewole, who was represented by the Zonal Business manager, North West Zone Mr. Jeremiah Essien, said Airtel would continue to seek new ways of meeting old and growing needs of the Nigerian market, pointing out that Airtel has been on the driving seat of innovation in the telecoms sector since it came into inception

According to him “Our offerings and network expansion initiatives have continued tomeet the growing needs of our customers especially in the area of network and data robustness as well as impactful service offerings. Presently, we have the largest and widest 3.75G coverage in the country. We also recently successfully completed LTE (4G) trial in Lagos and became the first operator to launch High Definition (HD) Voice service in the country. Our segmented product portfolio carters for all our customers across demographics while the Airtel Business Package offers enterprise solution for corporates, especially the Small and Medium Enterprises”.

As part of the special Airtel Day celebration at the Trade Fair, government representatives, members of council of Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) as well as local and international visitors to the fair,visited Airtel Pavilion to experience first-hand, the company's superior value propositions.

In addition, visitors to the pavilion were also treated to various cultural displays from traditional troupes as well as actual system demonstrations of its 3.75G data efficacy.

The Airtel Special Day was graced by several dignitaries including members of the state Executive Council, Alh. Suleiman Aliyu (Chairman, Seminar sub-committee), Mal. Usman Saulawa (Director General), Senator Wali Jibril, members of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (KADCCIMA) led by its President Dr. Alimi Bello who was represented by Alhaji Ahmed Isah, and two representatives from the Indian High Commission led by Mr. Ramesh Gadge and the media.
