Congolese Top Musician, Papa Wemba Dies On Stage During Live Concert

SAN FRANCISCO, April 24 (THEWILL) – Congolese most influential musician, Papa Wemba is dead after collapsing on stage during a live performance early Sunday morning in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Wemba, 66, according to media reports slumped during the concert while his dancers continued to perform, unaware of what had happened.

He was confirmed dead by first responders before he could be transported to the hospital, according to reports. The cause of death was not known as at the time of writing.

Wemba was famous for his kind of music; Soukus and his love for expensive designer fashion. He was one of Africa's most popular musicians.
