Why I Take Marijuana And Brandy—Blackface

One time group member of the defunct Plantashun Boyz, Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo aka Blackface in an interview with Sun newspaper, disclosed that he does not take drugs as some people might wonder but trys to be familiar with his lines before going on stage.

The singer like every other artistes, denied taking any form of stimulant before mounting the stage, but affirmed that he takes about two shots of brandy and weed base on the weather of the day.

“What of brandy or weed? Not really but when the weather is cold I could take a shot or two but that does not mean I can't perform without taking brandy,” he said.

The songwriter is best known as co-writer of "African Queen" with 2face Idibia, a song made famous by the latter after it appeared on his debut solo album Face 2 Face in 2004 to become an international hit.

After the Plantashun Boiz split up in 2004, Blackface led a solo musical career. He released the hip hop album Ghetto Child in May 2007 collaborating with a number of artists. The album contains "Hard Life" featuring Alabai as the first single. He also recorded a full album for his crew D Tribunal called What We Are.

After Ghetto Child, he released Evergreen, Jungle Fever, Me, Musiq and I, Dancehall Business and the prospective Defender. In 2013, he made a collaborative album 200 with Maine Eazz.
