Nollywoodgists.com reported some days ago the death of a popular Lagos socialite, Iyalode Adunni Bankole on the day of her daughter's wedding. However, the wedding went ahead despite the unfortunate incident.

The deceased's daughter, Mopelola, married her heartthrob, Sharafadeen Oluwafemi Jattoon on Saturday, January 3, 2015.

A Service of Songs was held on Tuesday, January 13, in her honour and her daughter spoke glowing of her late mother, describing her as a mother to all.

Mopelola said during the event that her late mother, even on her sick bed, had always worried about the big day, and she always thought she would be there.

She explained that her mum's sickness became worrisome, she (Iyalode) gave her blessings for the wedding, which took place at The Events Centre, Agidingbi.

Mopeola said on her wedding day, she was kept in the dark about her demise and in the evening, when she and her husband wanted to visit her, they saw many family members around, which gave her the impression that something was definitely amiss.

“I know my mom has gone to rest in a better place. She lived a good life. To everybody she was Iyalode Adunni Bankole, but to us, she was mummy. She pulled everybody close. She used to call me sweet name, like mumsy sweety darling.

“She was a strong woman that would stand her ground on anything. She had so much energy. She was full of life, nobody really knew what was going on because for her it was important that everything was in place," she said in her eulogy.
