The Ekiti Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, on Wednesday told commercial motorcyclists that his government wouldn't tolerate factional crisis that could threaten the security of the state.

Addressing the commercial motorcyclists, popular called Okada riders, in Ado-Ekiti, the governor said his government would not accommodate splinter groups in the union.

He stated that he was not going to join other states to ban the commercial motor circlists but urged them to be responsible and disciplined so as to be able to partner with the government for a meaningful development.

“Government alone can't maintain security; I have to partner with an organisation like yours. But I won't tolerate unruly behaviour. So, anytime you are riding, do it with some level of restraint and caution,” Fayose said.

This meaningful comment has not gone down well with Afro-beat singer, Seun Kuti, who has seen the speech of the governor as pointless thereby asking him to sell his car and buy a motor bike.

According to Seun Kuti, “As if say to ride okada Na beta transport, why u no sell your beta car and start to dey ride okada too now Oga fayose.”
