NFC Celebrates AY Achievements In Comedy

The Nigerian entertainment industry has really grown over time but not without the contribution of the comedy aspect of the industry to the growth. Though, there is nothing that does not come with its challenges, but Nigerian comedians have been able to stay heads high just to entertain fans on regular basis with the creation of various forms of relaxation ranging from stand-up comedy, TV skits and music comedy and many more.

Though many comedians have helped light up various stages, with the father of comedy, Ali Baba, Gbanga Adeyinka, Teju Babaface, Basket Mouth, Yaw, I Go Die, I Go Save, Gandoki, Omo Baba, Bovi, Helen Paul, Sheyi Law, AY, Omo Jesu, Julius Agwu and the list is endless. But Nollywoodgists.com has decided to pick Ayo Richard Makun, as one of the most decorated comedian to have been able to carve a niche for himself in the industry.

Ayo Makun, is a multi-award winning Nigerian actor, comedian, radio and T.V presenter, actor, writer, director and MC. He was made a U.N Peace Ambassador in 2009 after winning six awards in 2008. He is the C.E.O of Corporate World Entertainment Nigeria and is the host of the A.Y live shows and A.Y comedy skits.

The rip cracker, came into spotlight after being Alibaba Akporobome's personal assistant and event manager. A.Y also wrote going "A.Y wire" as a guest columnist in The Sun (Nigeria) and Gbenga Adeyinka's "laugh mattaz".

The comedian, directs and acts in one of Nigeria's popular sitcom, AY's crib with Alex Ekubo, Venita Akpofure, Buchi Franklin and Justice Nuagbe. He also hosts one of Africa's largest comedy shows, AY live featuring other comedians like Bovi, Helen Paul and many other comedians. Ayo Makun is also, the Chief Executive Officer for Corporate World entertainment, Nigeria. He also owns one of the biggest and most comfortable Club houses in Nigeria. An investor in stand-up comedy as he has influenced upcoming comedians through his AY "Open Mic Challenge."

He has just released his first comedy movie, '30 Days in Atlanta,' in 2014, which has been receiving wide accolades both local and international. According to the actor in a recent interview, 'When I came into the industry, people did not believe in me, but I believed in myself. A lot of people do not know that I am a graduate of theatre Arts. A lot of people do not know that I major in directing. A lot of people do not know that I was the only student in history of Delta state university Theatre Arts Department to have directed a convocation production.”

Ayo Makun is the oldest male child from a family of seven. He married Mabel in 2008 and they are blessed with a daughter, Michelle. NFC indeed, celebrates with this comedian for using his talents to bring smiles into various homes.
