QUO VADIS MR PETER OBI…?

…You are no longer your brother’s keeper!

By Alhaj i Peter Obi

For some time now, Anambra state and indeed our own APGA are embroiled into uncertainty due to speculated and the eventual exit of Mr. Peter Obi from APGA to PDP. Every Tom, Dick and Harry have been commenting, discussing and definitely reacting against/for Mr. Peter Obi's action. Many people are crucifying him while others are commending him for making the move towards the right direction. I laughed at some comments and marveled at some comments too. Some people sounded very patriotic in their comments while some sounded very selfish as well.

Besides, I need to remind Mr. Peter that in 2003, PDP denied him the governorship ticket (thanks to the activities of Anambra maverick politician –Chief Chris Uba). When he ran to APGA for refuge, he was received with open arms and brotherly love. He was given a very comfortable landing and eventually exhibited our motto “ONYE AGHANA NWANNE YA” to him. APGA harmonized and gave him the gubernatorial ticket for him to fly. Mr. Peter Obi then didn't remember that APGA was not a national party. He equally didn't remember that APGA could not take him to Abuja for national assignments. He forgot in a hurry that APGA stood by him during his struggles to actualize his dream when Chief Chris Uba, Dr. Chris Ngige etc took away his mandate from him. He forgot in a hurry how APGA removed her National Chairman-Chief Chekwas Okorie for allying himself to the whims and caprices of PDP against your struggle to regain your mandate.

Moreover, it is on record that APGA rooted very deeply for Mr. Peter Obi when he went to court for tenure interpretation, even when PDP was against him and had already rigged themselves into the government house. It is equally on records that PDP financed and spearheaded his impeachment which APGA fought with every arsenal within her reach and it turned out to be fruitful. Mr. Peter Obi should remember that President Jonathan appointed him into his economic team as an APGA governor and not as a PDP governor. In fact, he got everything on a platter of gold because he was an APGA governor. Mr Peter obi wouldn't have been the governor of Anambra state if not for APGA.

I read on social media about the story of the 'luxurious bus' as purportedly told by Mr. Peter Obi and I laughed after reading that particular story. I wondered how an internationally-acclaimed business mogul and an accomplished politician would make such a drowsy comment. APGA is now a luxurious bus while PDP is an aircraft. Why didn't the aircraft take you to “AGU AWKA in 2003 and 2011?” I see this comment as a very big insult and absolute caricature of the general intelligence of APGAns and by extension the entire Igbo race, who gave you that singular opportunity to fly their flag. It is very unfortunate. But when things go like this, let it be known to everybody that the end is near. APGA is a party to beat in Anambra state.

APGA is a Blessed party ab initio. APGA started as a movement, grew into an organization and eventually registered as a political party in Nigeria. We grew from strength to strength. Ofo na ogu ka anyi ji aga. Onye aghana nwanne ya bu ihe anyi ji eme onu. Ndi ekweganakwe na ndi ochongana oko agbafuchaala. Chukwu Abiama nonyeere anyi.

Happily, Governor Obiano is a man to beat. APGA is still on course despite the struggle. We believe that Chief Willy Obiano is a first-class governor and will maintain the first class achievements in Anambra state. Governor Willy Obiano's professional pedigree and antecedents are greatly intimidating. His escapades in TEXACO WORLDWIDE are still unbeaten. His footprints in FIDELITY BANK are still indelible and flambouyant. We all look forward to him to mount the saddle of APGA leadership and move on, even to higher grounds. APGA has come to stay and will definitely capture more states in the south east.

I was at the grasshopper's stadium at Owerri when Chief Obiano came for APGA rally in Imo state. He exhibited the leadership spirit at the event. Akpokuodike, we are solidly behind you. Ride on. ONYE AGHANA NWANNE YA.
