I Will Marry Fela In Heaven—Wife, Laide Kuti

Fela's third wife, Laide Kuti, has revealed that the late Fela was a builder and she wish to die soon to go and meet him wherever he is because he was a man that was able to take charge of everything.

She revealed that the reason why Fela got married to his 27 wives, was to use it to compensate them after their house was destroyed by the then military Head of State, Olusegun Obasanjo and his vice, Y'Adua.

Laide who happened to be the first female DJ in Nigeria in 1974, stated that they were severely dealt with by the military government and as such if there will be any apology coming their way, it should be in monetary value.

The former Fela dancer explained that during the time of the challenges with the Military Government, a lot of properties were lost and they his women, sustained severe injuries from police and military brutality which affected them physically.

She stated that though her family did not support her idea of marrying Fela, but Fela for whom he his, persisted. Adding that there is no man on earth that can be like the legend Afro-beat king because he so much loved all his wives and treated them equally that they never had issues with each other.

According to her, as far as the Fela's legacy lives on, the family are still united but was sad that some of the 27 queens as they were identified as have lost their lives while some are base in various contries like the US, UK and Paris.
